MYNTRA BETS ON SKILLS OVER JOB TITLES WITH LAUNCH OF AI-POWERED ‘SKILLVERSE’

Myntra has unveiled SkillVerse, an AI-powered talent marketplace developed with Benevolve, signalling a shift from traditional career progression models towards skills-based growth. The platform offers personalised learning, mentorship and internal opportunities, reflecting a wider workplace trend where careers are increasingly shaped by adaptability, exploration and continuous development.

The corporate career ladder, once viewed as a predictable climb from one rung to the next, is beginning to look increasingly outdated. In its place is emerging a more fluid model of work in which growth is less about titles and tenure, and more about skills, experiences and the ability to continuously adapt.

That changing philosophy is now taking shape at Myntra with the launch of SkillVerse, an artificial intelligence-powered talent marketplace designed to reshape how employees navigate professional growth and opportunities within the organisation.

Developed in partnership with Benevolve, SkillVerse has been introduced as a platform intended to help employees build careers through a skills-first approach rather than through fixed or linear progression paths. Employees, known internally as “Myntraites”, can use the platform to discover personalised learning journeys, seek mentorship opportunities, participate in projects and explore internal career possibilities.

The move reflects a broader shift unfolding across workplaces globally, where organisations are reconsidering long-held assumptions about career development. Traditional promotion structures are increasingly giving way to models built around flexibility and mobility, with companies seeking ways to align employee aspirations with rapidly changing business needs.

AI has become central to this evolution. By using data-driven recommendations and intelligent matching systems, organisations are attempting to create more personalised experiences for employees, moving away from one-size-fits-all learning and development programmes. SkillVerse appears to sit within this wider trend of skills intelligence and internal talent mobility. Myntra has previously invested in structured learning initiatives and career pathways as part of its wider talent strategy.

The launch itself sought to capture the idea that growth can be experiential rather than procedural. Employees were introduced to the platform through immersive experiences, interactive zones and leadership discussions designed to bring the concept to life. Rather than a conventional software rollout, the event positioned the platform as part of a larger conversation about how careers may evolve in the future.

For companies navigating a technology-driven economy, retaining talent increasingly depends on providing opportunities for reinvention rather than simply offering promotions. Industry discussions around talent management have increasingly highlighted the need for internal mobility, reskilling and career flexibility as important factors influencing employee engagement and retention.
