Godrej Industries Group has announced a generational leadership transition, with Nadir Godrej retiring in August 2026 to become Chairman Emeritus. Pirojsha Godrej will succeed him as Chairperson, while Burjis Godrej takes charge of Godrej Agrovet. The changes mark a new era for the Group, anchored in legacy and values.

Godrej Industries Group has announced a significant leadership transition as part of its planned generational succession. Nadir Godrej, Chairperson of the Group, will retire upon turning 75 in August 2026, stepping down from the boards of Godrej Industries Limited, Godrej Agrovet Limited, Godrej Consumer Products Limited and Godrej Properties Limited. He has also relinquished his role as Chairperson and Non-Executive Director of Astec LifeSciences Limited, effective April 13, 2026. Following his retirement, he will assume the honorary role of Chairman Emeritus.

Pirojsha Godrej has been named Chairperson Designate and will succeed Nadir Godrej as Chairperson of the Godrej Industries Group and Godrej Industries Limited from August 14, 2026. He will continue to serve as Chairperson of Godrej Properties, Godrej Capital and Godrej Ventures, ensuring continuity across the Group’s diverse businesses.

Burjis Godrej has been appointed Chairperson of Godrej Agrovet and will join the Board of Godrej Industries Limited as a Non-Executive Director from August 14, 2026. He has stepped down as Managing Director of Astec LifeSciences with immediate effect but will remain on its board as a Non-Executive Director.

In parallel, Vishal Sharma, CEO of Godrej Chemicals, has been appointed Chairperson of Astec LifeSciences, while Arijit Mukherjee, currently COO, has been elevated to Executive Director. These appointments reflect the Group’s emphasis on strengthening leadership across its portfolio.

Reflecting on his tenure, Nadir Godrej said: “It has been a privilege to serve the Godrej Industries Group over several decades and to work alongside exceptional colleagues who have built this institution with integrity and purpose. I am confident that the Group will continue to grow from strength to strength under the next generation of leadership, while remaining deeply anchored in its values.”

Pirojsha Godrej described his appointment as both a responsibility and a privilege, noting: “We inherit a remarkable legacy built over generations, and our task now is to build on it with ambition while staying true to the values that define us.”

Burjis Godrej added: “I am excited to take on this role at Godrej Agrovet and to build on the strong foundation that has been established. Our focus will be on building a stronger, more resilient Godrej Agrovet—driving sustainable growth while sharpening execution across our businesses.”

The transition underscores the Group’s commitment to continuity, resilience and values-driven leadership as it prepares for its next chapter.
