Nissan reveals the Gravite, a feature-rich, ultra-modular 7-seater MPV, priced ₹6-9 lakh, with launch expected in March 2026. The vehicle boasts a spacious interior, 8-inch touchscreen, and advanced safety features, targeting young families and first-time buyers in India’s competitive MPV segment.

Nissan has unveiled the name of its upcoming 7-seater MPV, the Gravite, as part of its renewed India strategy to regain scale and relevance. The Gravite is the second vehicle name revealed after the Tekton SUV and is expected to be a game-changer for Nissan in the Indian market.

Designed specifically for Indian families, the Gravite focuses on space, modular seating, and practicality in the value-conscious MPV segment. The vehicle will carry Nissan’s global design identity, including its signature C-shaped grille, while offering flexible interior configurations and enhanced storage options.

The Gravite is based on the CMF-A+ platform, shared with the Renault Triber, and is expected to be powered by a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 72 PS and 96 Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual gearbox and an automated manual transmission (AMT) for urban convenience.

The interior of the Gravite is expected to be spacious and feature-rich, with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 7-inch semi-digital instrument cluster. The vehicle will also offer six airbags, front and rear parking sensors, hill-start assist, and a rear-view camera as safety features.

The Gravite will be locally manufactured at Renault-Nissan’s Chennai plant and is expected to be priced competitively, starting around ₹6 lakh (ex-showroom) and going up to ₹9 lakh. The vehicle will compete with the Renault Triber, Maruti Ertiga, and Toyota Rumion in the affordable MPV segment.

Nissan’s Gravite is a significant launch for the company in India, marking its renewed focus on the Indian market. With its spacious interior, feature-rich cabin, and competitive pricing, the Gravite is expected to appeal to young families and first-time buyers looking for a practical and affordable 7-seater MPV.
