Voltas has named Prasenjit Basu as its new Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications. Basu, who previously led marketing, product and e-commerce at Voltas Beko, brings over two decades of experience across consumer durables, retail, media and communications. His appointment signals Voltas’s intent to strengthen brand positioning and stakeholder engagement.

Voltas has announced the appointment of Prasenjit Basu as Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications, marking a significant leadership move for the Tata Group company. Basu, who joined Voltas in August 2026, steps into the role after a successful tenure as Head of Marketing, Product and E-commerce at Voltas Beko, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the brand’s consumer engagement strategy.

Basu’s association with Voltas spans multiple chapters. Between April 2017 and March 2019, he served as Senior General Manager, Marketing at Voltas, before moving to Voltas Beko to lead its marketing and digital commerce initiatives. His return to Voltas in a broader capacity underscores the company’s confidence in his ability to integrate brand stewardship with corporate communications, a function increasingly critical in today’s competitive marketplace.

His career trajectory reflects a blend of consumer durables, retail and media expertise. Prior to his roles at Voltas and Voltas Beko, Basu spent five years at TEN Sports Network, where he rose from Vice President – Head Marketing to Senior Vice President – Head Marketing and Audience Strategy, overseeing operations across India, Pakistan and the Americas. This experience gave him a global perspective on audience engagement and brand positioning, skills that are expected to enrich Voltas’s communication strategy.

Earlier in his career, Basu held marketing roles at Videocon Consumer Durables and Reliance Digital Retail, gaining insights into product marketing and retail dynamics. He began his professional journey at Kodak in 1997, working in product marketing and sales, before expanding his portfolio with stints at DLF Universal and Burson-Marsteller – Genesis PR. This diverse background has equipped him with a holistic understanding of brand building, corporate reputation management and consumer behaviour.

Industry observers note that Basu’s appointment comes at a time when Voltas is seeking to consolidate its leadership in the consumer durables sector, while also enhancing its corporate narrative. As Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications, he will be responsible not only for driving brand campaigns and product visibility but also for shaping Voltas’s voice across stakeholders, including customers, partners and employees.

With his extensive experience spanning consumer durables, retail, media and communications, Basu is well positioned to steer Voltas’s marketing and corporate communications into a new phase of growth. His leadership is expected to strengthen the company’s brand equity, deepen consumer trust and ensure that Voltas’s messaging resonates across both domestic and international markets.
