Wow! Momo has appointed Sylvia Dutta as Lead – Corporate Communications & PR, bringing over 16 years of experience. The move underscores the fast-growing QSR chain’s focus on strengthening brand storytelling and strategic communications as it scales operations and expands its multi-brand presence across India.
Fast-growing quick service restaurant chain Wow! Momo has appointed Sylvia Dutta as Lead – Corporate Communications & PR, signalling a strategic push to bolster its brand narrative and stakeholder engagement as it continues its rapid expansion across India.
Dutta joins the homegrown food brand with over 16 years of experience spanning corporate communications, public relations and brand management, bringing a blend of editorial insight and corporate storytelling expertise to the role. Her appointment comes at a time when Wow! Momo is scaling aggressively, having grown from a single kiosk in 2008 into a multi-brand QSR player with hundreds of outlets across dozens of cities.
Prior to this move, Dutta spent nearly 15 years with Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd., where she led corporate communications and played a pivotal role in shaping the narrative of one of India’s largest food service companies. Her work there spanned internal and external communications, media relations, crisis management and digital PR, contributing to the visibility of brands such as Domino’s and Dunkin’ in the Indian market.
Her earlier career includes stints in corporate communications at GMR Delhi International Airport and an initial grounding in public relations with Grey Worldwide, experiences that have equipped her with a cross-sector perspective on reputation management and strategic messaging.
Announcing her transition, Dutta reflected on the shift from established global food brands to a fast-growing Indian challenger, describing it as a move “from pizza to momos”, while emphasising her continued drive to build meaningful brand stories. In her new role, she will lead communications strategy for Wow! Momo and its expanding portfolio, which includes formats such as Wow! China, Wow! Chicken and Wow! Kulfi.
The appointment highlights the increasing importance of integrated communications leadership in India’s competitive QSR landscape, where brand differentiation, consumer engagement and reputation management are becoming central to growth. For Wow! Momo, bringing in a seasoned communications leader reflects its ambition to evolve from a popular street-food-inspired brand into a more structured, narrative-driven consumer business.
