UM Australia promotes Andrew Clift to General Manager, UM Sydney

UM Australia has announced the promotion of Andrew Clift to the role of General Manager of its Sydney office. Previously Managing Partner, Clift’s promotion recognises his decade-long contribution to the agency and his deep expertise across media, marketing, and communications.

CEO UM Australia, Anathea Ruys said Clift’s promotion reflects UM’s commitment to nurturing talent and supporting growth from within, and she was delighted he has accepted the role and will continue to evolve his leadership journey at UM.

Ruys said: “Promoting from within is always a proud moment for UM, and Andrew is the right talent to lead our Sydney office into 2026 and beyond.

“He is deeply immersed in the business and has an outstanding track record of delivering real value and impact for our clients. He will bring new energy and leadership to help our Sydney team continue to thrive.

Brining strategic insight to every client engagement, Clift has developed a reputation for delivering innovative, client-focused solutions across both digital and traditional channels. His career has seen him lead account management, media planning and buying, and client communications, giving him a holistic view of the business and its clients.

Ruys continued: “Andrew’s passion for his craft has always been unwavering and his leadership and mentoring skills have been crucial to enable UM grow, foster innovation and uphold the agency’s ambition to deliver exceptional client results.”

Commenting on his promotion, Andrew Clift said: “I’m thrilled to take on this next chapter at UM and lead our team in such an exciting period for our industry. Over the past decade, I’ve been fortunate to work with incredible clients and teams, and this role is an opportunity to continue building on that foundation and help solve the complex challenges businesses face today.


“Under my leadership our aim will be to continue to drive innovation and deliver outstanding outcomes for clients as we move into 2026 and beyond.”

Clift has been at UM since 2016; his new role is effective immediately.
