Komerz, the AI-powered commerce and marketing platform, has appointed Shahid Sadiq as Group Chief Financial Officer. With two decades of international finance leadership, Sadiq will oversee acquisitions, capital strategy and investor relations as Komerz accelerates global expansion and scales its £500 million-valued ecosystem.
Komerz, the UK-founded AI-powered platform uniting commerce, marketing, data and distribution, has announced the appointment of Shahid Sadiq as Group Chief Financial Officer. The move brings one of the industry’s most seasoned finance leaders onto the executive team as the company intensifies its global expansion and strategic acquisitions.
A Chartered Accountant with 20 years of experience in marketing communications, Sadiq joins from WPP, where he served as Global CFO of WPP Specialist Communications and PR, overseeing finance across a diverse multi-market portfolio. His earlier career includes senior roles such as CFO and later COO EMEA at Geometry Global, and Regional CFO for McCann Worldgroup EMEA. He has also contributed as an advisor and Non-Executive Director on both listed and private company boards.
At Komerz, Sadiq will play a pivotal role in scaling the company’s AI-powered commerce ecosystem. His remit spans group finance, capital allocation, investment strategy, fundraising, governance, performance management and investor relations. His appointment comes as Komerz continues to grow across its four global hubs, building long-term value through disciplined expansion and acquisitions.
Founded in 2023, Komerz is currently undertaking a growth financing round that values the business at £500 million. The company has developed a next-generation operating model that connects the full commercial value chain, from demand creation and marketing effectiveness through to conversion, distribution and measurable revenue outcomes. Recent acquisitions have expanded its footprint across brands, data, marketing and commerce, including haircare brand NOUGHTY, Great Wines Direct, US-based marketing measurement firm Pathformance Technologies, and consultancy Glassbox.
Central to this strategy is the Komerz Operating System, an AI-powered commerce platform integrating data, intelligence and execution across the brand lifecycle. It enables consumer targeting, channel optimisation, demand forecasting, market expansion, retail planning and performance management, allowing brands to scale with precision and agility.
Ramesh Krishnamurthy, CEO of Komerz, described the appointment as a milestone in the company’s evolution: “Shahid’s experience leading complex international organisations and delivering disciplined growth will be invaluable. We are building for the long term, and Shahid brings the financial leadership needed for the next stage of our journey.”
Siddharth Shankar, COO of Komerz, added: “Komerz is creating a new kind of commercial growth platform, combining brands, technology, data and distribution within a single ecosystem. Shahid brings world-class financial and operational expertise that will help us accelerate growth, integrate acquisitions effectively, and continue building a category-defining business.”
Reflecting on his new role, Sadiq said: “Komerz is building a highly differentiated platform at the intersection of commerce, distribution, AI and performance-led growth. The opportunity to help scale this globally, through disciplined investment, profitable expansion and strategic acquisitions, is extremely compelling. I look forward to working with the leadership team to build a world-class omni-channel distribution business for brands.”
