Carousell Group has been recognised as Best in Pillar – Social Impact of Design in the Design Power Index (DPI) Singapore 2026. The accolade underscores the company’s ability to harness design for measurable societal and environmental good, cementing its role as a leader in secondhand innovation across Southeast Asia.

Carousell Group has been awarded the distinction of Best in Pillar – Social Impact of Design in the Design Power Index (DPI) Singapore 2026, a recognition that highlights its exceptional ability to leverage design for societal and environmental good. The DPI, which evaluated 23 organisations including some of Singapore’s largest, measures how design functions as a source of economic and societal power rather than by industry sector.

The index assesses institutional performance across four dimensions: value capture, market shaping, adoption and scale, and durable impact. Collectively, the organisations included in this year’s index represent a market value of approximately S$148.89 billion, employ over 75,000 staff, and operate across 115 countries. Evidence of design impact is submitted by participating organisations and rigorously assessed by an international panel of experts in finance, investment, design, and social impact from the Americas, Europe, and Asia. Notably, the 2026 edition reinstated rigorous evaluation after a pause in 2025.

Carousell’s recognition in the Social Impact of Design pillar reflects its proven ability to generate outcomes that are both measurable and sustained, ensuring that design-driven initiatives deliver meaningful benefits well beyond their immediate scope. This distinction acknowledges the company’s mission to make secondhand the first choice, positioning design as a driver of environmental responsibility and community empowerment.

Founded in 2012, Carousell Group has grown into the leading multi-category platform for secondhand in Greater Southeast Asia, serving tens of millions of users across seven key markets. Its portfolio includes Carousell, Cho Tot, Laku6, LuxLexicon, Mudah.my, OneShift, REFASH, and Revo Financial. The Group’s growth has been supported by global investors such as Telenor Group, Rakuten Ventures, Naver, STIC Investments, 500 Global, and Peak XV Partners (formerly Sequoia Capital India).

This accolade not only reinforces Carousell’s leadership in secondhand innovation but also demonstrates how design can be harnessed as a force for durable social impact, setting a benchmark for organisations across Singapore and beyond.
