Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are now available in India, marking the latest expansion of the company’s flagship smartphone line. Starting at ₹1,64,900 and ₹1,79,900 respectively, the new models bring an A20 Pro chip, upgraded cameras with variable aperture, larger storage options and enhanced AI capabilities.
Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max have gone on sale in India, with customers able to purchase the latest Pro models from Apple’s online store and authorised retail outlets. The launch on September 18 follows pre-orders that began on September 12 in India and several other markets.
The iPhone 18 Pro starts at ₹1,64,900 for the 256GB version, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at ₹1,79,900. Both models are offered with 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB storage configurations. At the top end, the 2TB iPhone 18 Pro is priced at ₹3,14,900, while the 2TB Pro Max costs ₹3,29,900.
Apple is also offering financing options, including No Cost EMI for eligible customers. American Express, Axis Bank and ICICI Bank cardholders can access cashback offers, while Apple’s Trade In programme can provide credit towards a new iPhone depending on the existing device and its condition.
The new Pro models focus heavily on photography and video. Both feature a 48MP Fusion Main camera with variable aperture, a technology Apple says gives users greater control over depth of field and lighting. The camera system is designed to improve low-light photography and detail while providing additional controls for creative users.
Performance is powered by Apple’s A20 Pro chip, paired with a next-generation vapour chamber designed to support sustained performance. The iPhone 18 Pro has a 6.3-inch display, while the Pro Max features a larger 6.9-inch screen. Apple also highlights improvements to battery life, with the Pro Max receiving what the company describes as its largest battery-life increase in an iPhone.
The smartphones run iOS 27 and incorporate Apple Intelligence and Siri AI capabilities. Apple says these features are designed to provide more personalised assistance while maintaining its emphasis on privacy and security. The models are available in black, silver, glacier and a new burgundy finish.
The Indian launch has also generated significant interest at Apple retail stores, with long queues reported outside stores in several cities as customers arrived to purchase the new devices. The launch comes alongside Apple’s wider 2026 product line-up, including its first foldable iPhone.
For Apple, the iPhone 18 Pro series represents a continued effort to combine smartphone photography, high-performance computing and AI-enabled features in its premium devices, while offering customers substantially higher storage capacities than previous generations.
