CAPGEMINI APPOINTED TO DRIVE BENTLEY’S DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION

Bentley Motors has named Capgemini as its digital transformation lead, tasked with building the infrastructure and systems integration underpinning the automaker’s Dream Factory in Crewe. The collaboration will enhance Bentley’s AI and data capabilities, supporting its Beyond100+ vision for hyper-personalised, sustainable luxury car production and marking a pivotal step in its digital journey.  

Bentley Motors has taken a decisive step in its pursuit of digital excellence by appointing Capgemini as its digital transformation lead. The partnership will see Capgemini design and implement the digital infrastructure and systems integration required to support Bentley’s Dream Factory in Crewe, an evolving hub for hyper-personalised, digital, and sustainable luxury car production.  

The Dream Factory represents Bentley’s ambition to redefine automotive manufacturing by combining craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology. Capgemini’s role will be central to this transformation, strengthening Bentley’s capabilities in artificial intelligence and data across customer and commercial insights, IT service operations, data architecture, and cost optimisation. By embedding advanced digital systems into Bentley’s operations, the collaboration aims to create a seamless integration of technology and tradition, ensuring the brand remains at the forefront of luxury innovation.  

Bentley Board Member Axel Dewitz underscored the significance of the partnership, describing the transition as “an important step in Bentley’s digital journey” and noting that integration is “progressing smoothly.” His comments reflect the company’s confidence in Capgemini’s expertise and the strategic importance of digitalisation in shaping Bentley’s future.  

Capgemini’s Rob Pears echoed this sentiment, highlighting Bentley’s unique position in the automotive landscape. “The brand’s legacy and ambitious vision offer exciting opportunities to drive innovation through data and AI,” he said. Pears’ remarks emphasise the potential of the collaboration to unlock new dimensions of customer experience and operational efficiency, aligning Bentley’s storied heritage with modern digital capabilities.  

The partnership also supports Bentley’s Beyond100+ strategic vision, which outlines the company’s next era of luxury automotive manufacturing. Beyond100+ is focused on sustainability, electrification, and personalisation, with digital transformation serving as a critical enabler. By leveraging Capgemini’s expertise, Bentley aims to create a production environment that is not only technologically advanced but also environmentally responsible and deeply attuned to the desires of its clientele.  

For Bentley, the integration of AI and data-driven insights will allow for greater precision in tailoring vehicles to individual customer preferences, while optimising internal processes to reduce costs and enhance efficiency. The Dream Factory in Crewe is envisioned as a model of future-facing luxury production, where digital systems underpin every aspect of design, manufacturing, and customer engagement.
