Hyderabad-based spacetech startup Dhruva Space has secured ₹105 crore from the Government of India for Project Garud, a landmark initiative to build scalable satellite infrastructure. The 500 kg-class satellite platform will enable large-scale constellation deployment across telecommunications, earth observation, and national security applications.

Dhruva Space, a full-stack Space Engineering solutions provider headquartered in Hyderabad, has announced a major funding milestone with the Government of India committing ₹105 crore to its ambitious Project Garud. This initiative is set to accelerate India’s growing spacetech ecosystem by creating scalable satellite infrastructure capable of supporting diverse applications.

At the heart of Project Garud is the development of a 500 kg-class satellite platform designed for large-scale constellation deployment. Such platforms are critical for expanding India’s capabilities in telecommunications, earth observation, and national security, offering both civilian and defence clients advanced solutions tailored to global needs.

Dhruva Space’s integrated model spans the entire spectrum of space operations—covering Space, Launch, and Ground segments. The company provides satellites, earth stations, and launch services either as bundled solutions or individually, enabling seamless deployment of space-based applications on Earth and beyond. This versatility positions Dhruva Space as a key player in India’s ambition to strengthen its presence in the global spacetech arena.

The funding for Project Garud underscores the government’s commitment to nurturing indigenous innovation in aerospace and defence technology. By supporting startups like Dhruva Space, India is not only advancing its self-reliance agenda but also laying the groundwork for a robust ecosystem that can compete internationally.

For Dhruva Space, this investment represents both validation and opportunity. It reinforces the company’s role as a pioneer in India’s private spacetech sector, while providing the resources to scale its infrastructure for constellation-based missions. As global demand for satellite-driven applications continues to rise, Project Garud could mark a turning point in India’s journey toward becoming a leading spacetech hub.
