Mondelēz India has named Vinay Subramanyam as Vice President – Marketing, succeeding Nitin Saini, who moves to a regional role in Southeast Asia. Subramanyam brings over two decades of experience from Kellanova, Pidilite, Britannia and VIP Industries. His appointment reflects Mondelēz’s focus on innovation, consumer-centric growth and leadership development in India.

Mondelēz India has announced the appointment of Vinay Subramanyam as Vice President – Marketing, marking a significant leadership transition within its India operations. He succeeds Nitin Saini, who has been elevated to a regional role as General Manager, Indonesia, in Southeast Asia. The move underscores the company’s commitment to nurturing leadership talent while reinforcing its focus on growth and innovation in the Indian snacking market.

Subramanyam joins Mondelēz India with more than 20 years of experience across some of the most respected consumer goods organisations. Most recently, he was Head of Marketing, South Asia at Kellanova (now Mars Snacking), where he was also a member of the AMEA Commercial Leadership Team. His career spans leadership roles at Pidilite Industries, Britannia Industries, and VIP Industries, where he built a reputation for driving category growth, leading innovation, and developing high-performing teams.

At Kellanova, Subramanyam was responsible for scaling category growth and overseeing strategic business initiatives across South Asia. Known for his consumer-first mindset and strong commercial acumen, he has consistently delivered business growth while creating meaningful brand experiences. His contributions have earned him recognition in Business World’s Top 50 Marketers and Impact’s Top 100 Marketers lists. He holds a Master’s degree in Management from MICA, Ahmedabad, and a graduate degree in Business Management from Bharathiar University, Tamil Nadu.

Samir Jain, President of Mondelēz India, welcomed Subramanyam, stating: “We are delighted to welcome Vinay to Mondelēz International. He brings a strong track record of building brands, driving category growth, leading innovation and developing high-performing teams across some of the industry’s most respected consumer companies. As we scale our India business further, Vinay’s leadership and consumer-centric approach will be instrumental in accelerating our next phase of growth.”

Jain also congratulated Nitin Saini on his new role, acknowledging his strategic leadership, brand-building initiatives, and relentless focus on innovation and execution during his tenure in India. Saini’s contributions have reinforced Mondelēz India’s position as one of the country’s leading snacking companies, with a portfolio that includes Cadbury Dairy Milk, Bournvita, Oreo, Perk, 5 Star, Gems, and Chocobakes.

This leadership transition comes at a pivotal time for Mondelēz India, which has been present in the country for over 75 years and continues to expand its footprint in the fast-growing snacking category. With Subramanyam’s appointment, the company signals its intent to further strengthen its consumer engagement and innovation pipeline, ensuring sustained growth in one of its most strategic markets.
