Globus Spirits Limited has launched TERAI Tequila, India’s first CRT-certified tequila bottled domestically. Produced in Jalisco, Mexico, from 100% Blue Weber Agave, TERAI Blanco reflects authentic tequila traditions. Retailing across select states, the launch highlights India’s growing appetite for premium global spirits rooted in provenance, authenticity, and quality.

Globus Spirits Limited has announced the arrival of TERAI Tequila, a landmark launch that positions India firmly on the global spirits map. Marketed as the country’s first authentic, CRT-certified tequila to be bottled domestically, TERAI represents a significant step in catering to India’s increasingly discerning consumers who value provenance and quality in their drink choices.

The tequila is produced in Jalisco, Mexico, the heartland of the spirit, using 100% Blue Weber Agave. Distilled at the renowned La Huaracha Distillery, it adheres strictly to traditional tequila-making practices that have defined the category for generations. Once crafted, the spirit is imported into India, where it is bottled under the supervision of the Consejo Regulador del Tequila (CRT), ensuring that every drop meets the rigorous standards of authenticity set by Mexico’s governing body.

The first expression to reach Indian shelves is TERAI Blanco, a classic tequila style celebrated for its agave-forward character. With balanced spice and an earthy finish shaped by the volcanic soils of Jalisco, TERAI Blanco offers a profile that is both approachable for new enthusiasts and rewarding for seasoned tequila drinkers. Its flavour notes are designed to highlight the natural complexity of agave, making it suitable for sipping neat or as the foundation of refined cocktails.

Pricing reflects the complexities of India’s state-by-state taxation system. In Rajasthan, TERAI Blanco retails at approximately ₹5,815, while in Haryana and Goa it is available between ₹3,600 and ₹4,500. The selective rollout underscores the brand’s strategy of targeting markets where premium spirits consumption is on the rise, with plans to expand availability as demand grows.

The launch of TERAI Tequila is emblematic of a broader trend in India’s beverage industry. Consumers are increasingly drawn to globally recognised spirits that emphasise authenticity, heritage, and craftsmanship. Whisky and gin have already seen a surge in premium offerings, and tequila now joins the ranks as a category poised for growth. By introducing a CRT-certified product, Globus Spirits is not only tapping into this demand but also setting a benchmark for quality assurance in the Indian market.

As Indian drinkers continue to explore international spirits, TERAI Tequila’s arrival signals a new chapter in the country’s evolving palate—one that blends global tradition with local innovation, and positions India as a serious player in the premium spirits landscape.
