Kirsty Giordani has been appointed Global Managing Director of the International Advertising Association, following her successful interim leadership. The IAA Global headquarters will move from New York to London, reflecting the city’s international stature. Chair Fredrik Borestrom hailed Giordani’s transformative leadership and her role in shaping the association’s future.

The International Advertising Association (IAA) has announced the appointment of Kirsty Giordani as its new Global Managing Director, marking a defining moment in the organisation’s history. Giordani, who has already demonstrated her leadership as interim Global MD over the past four months, will now formally take the helm as the association transitions into a new era.

Giordani’s appointment comes with a significant strategic shift: the relocation of IAA Global’s headquarters from New York to London. This historic move underscores London’s position as a premier international hub for marketing and advertising, offering the association a stronger base to connect with global markets and foster cross-border collaboration. For the IAA, which has long been a voice for the advertising industry worldwide, the decision signals a renewed commitment to international engagement and innovation.

Her track record speaks volumes. As Managing Director of IAA UK, Giordani transformed the chapter by strengthening its community and enhancing member value. Since 2019, she has built a resilient team, navigated challenges with clarity, and ensured the organisation emerged stronger and more stable. Her leadership style, described as compassionate and authentic, has resonated across the industry, earning her respect as a leader who balances vision with empathy.

Fredrik Borestrom, Chair and World President of the IAA, praised Giordani’s impact, stating: “Kirsty is a genuine, compassionate, and authentic leader who has consistently demonstrated the global outlook and cross-border collaboration that are at the heart of the IAA. Since 2019, Kirsty transformed IAA UK and built a strong team. She navigated the business through some challenging times, with impeccable leadership, ensuring we emerged as a much stronger and more stable organisation. Over the last 4 months, Kirsty has expertly managed the successful transition of IAA Global into a new era, demonstrating immediate impact and we are incredibly lucky to have her leading our global efforts.”

The relocation of the headquarters to London is more than symbolic. It positions the IAA at the centre of a city renowned for its creative industries, global connectivity, and diverse talent pool. For Giordani, this move represents an opportunity to harness London’s strengths while reinforcing the IAA’s mission to unite voices across borders and champion the value of advertising worldwide.

Her appointment reflects the association’s confidence in her ability to lead with vision and pragmatism. Having already proven her capability during her interim tenure, Giordani is expected to drive forward initiatives that strengthen global collaboration, enhance member engagement, and ensure the IAA remains a vital force in shaping the future of advertising.

As the IAA embarks on this new chapter, Giordani’s leadership will be pivotal in navigating the evolving landscape of marketing and advertising. With London as its new global base and Giordani at the helm, the association is poised to amplify its influence and legacy, reinforcing its role as a unifying voice for the industry worldwide.
