Mahindra Group has unveiled a fresh campaign for the Thar Roxx, created by The Womb and featuring Abhay Deol and Amyra Dastur. Moving beyond off-roading imagery, the film places relationships at its core, reflecting women’s growing influence in car-buying decisions and broadening the SUV’s appeal to younger, emotionally engaged consumers.

Mahindra Group is reshaping the narrative around its Thar Roxx SUV with a campaign that places relationships and emotional resonance at the centre of its storytelling. Created by The Womb, the latest film stars Abhay Deol and Amyra Dastur, and marks a deliberate departure from the vehicle’s traditional positioning as a rugged off-roader. Instead, the campaign explores the dynamics of modern relationships, weaving in themes of connection, trust and shared experiences, while still retaining the adventurous spirit that has long defined the Thar brand.

The creative strategy reflects a broader shift in automotive marketing, where emotional storytelling increasingly complements product features. By focusing on relationships, Mahindra acknowledges the evolving consumer landscape, particularly the growing influence of women in car-buying decisions. This recognition signals a conscious effort to broaden the SUV’s appeal beyond its established base of adventure enthusiasts, reaching a new generation of buyers who value both lifestyle and emotional connection in their choices.

Abhay Deol and Amyra Dastur bring a nuanced portrayal to the campaign, embodying the balance between individuality and togetherness that resonates with contemporary audiences. Their presence adds cinematic depth to the narrative, ensuring that the film appeals not only to traditional SUV lovers but also to those who see vehicles as extensions of personal identity and shared journeys.

The Womb’s creative execution underscores Mahindra’s intent to position the Thar Roxx as more than just a machine built for off-road thrills. By embedding the SUV within a story of relationships, the campaign reframes the vehicle as a companion in life’s adventures, whether they unfold on rugged terrain or in the complexities of human connection. This approach aligns with a growing trend in the automotive sector, where brands are increasingly tapping into emotional storytelling to differentiate themselves in a competitive market.

For Mahindra, the campaign represents a strategic evolution of the Thar Roxx’s identity. While the SUV continues to embody adventure and resilience, it now also symbolises inclusivity and emotional depth. This dual positioning enhances its relevance to younger consumers who seek vehicles that reflect both their aspirations and their values.

By blending the SUV’s adventurous DNA with a narrative rooted in relationships, Mahindra has crafted a campaign that not only broadens the Thar Roxx’s appeal but also reinforces the brand’s ability to adapt to changing cultural and consumer dynamics. It is a bold reimagining that positions the Thar Roxx as a vehicle for both journeys and bonds, capturing the spirit of modern storytelling in automotive marketing.
