Maker’s Mark and Keeneland Race Course have launched the second bottle in their Greats of the Gate series, honouring Hall-of-Fame racehorse Northern Dancer. Featuring artwork by Tyler Robertson, the teal-and-yellow design celebrates Kentucky’s racing heritage while supporting nonprofits, with a decade-long goal to raise $4 million for the industry and arts.

Maker’s Mark and Keeneland Race Course have unveiled the second bottle in their Greats of the Gate 10-year commemorative series, timed to coincide with Keeneland’s Spring Meet this month. The collaboration celebrates Thoroughbred racing’s most iconic horses, with this year’s edition dedicated to Hall-of-Fame racehorse Northern Dancer.

Northern Dancer, renowned for his victories in both the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes, is immortalised through a striking design by Kentucky artist Tyler Robertson. The bottle features teal and yellow polka dots inspired by the racing silks associated with the legendary horse, with its crown dipped in teal wax to complete the tribute.

The commemorative series reflects a shared commitment by Keeneland and Maker’s Mark to raise $4 million over the next decade for nonprofit organisations supporting Kentucky’s horse racing industry, hospitality, and the arts. This initiative underscores the enduring cultural significance of Thoroughbred racing in the state and its deep ties to community and tradition.

The Greats of the Gate series not only honours equine legends but also strengthens the bond between Kentucky’s heritage and its future, blending artistry, philanthropy, and the timeless spirit of racing.
