RÆBURN has unveiled a new film project produced with Belief Studio, applying its RÆMADE ethos to generative AI. Conscious of environmental impacts, the brand doubled offset contributions to water and carbon projects, arguing that integrity and idea-led production matter more than blanket criticisms of AI’s footprint in advertising.
RÆBURN has taken another step in its ongoing process of refinement with the release of a new film created in partnership with Belief Studio. The project, which blends generative AI with the brand’s sustainability ethos, reflects RÆBURN’s conviction that surplus materials — or in this case, creative processes — can be reworked into something entirely new.
The film arrives during a year of transition for the label, which has relocated its studio to the Design District on Greenwich Peninsula, launched a new website, and curated a capsule of RÆMADE products alongside varied collaborations. Each initiative, including this film, forms part of RÆBURN’s strategy of experimentation and evolution as it shapes its next chapter.
Environmental responsibility was central to the production. RÆBURN and Belief Studio sought to offset the project’s footprint through donations to water and carbon-offsetting schemes. Commenting on the process, Belief Studio’s Starr acknowledged the limitations of current measurement tools but stressed the importance of attempting accountability. “We have assumed the absolute worst case scenario of this film’s footprint, and then doubled it,” he said, noting that RÆBURN mirrored the contribution. Even so, he argued, the impact is far less than traditional production methods.
Starr also challenged the narrative that AI is inherently destructive. “Planetary impact is often wielded as a weapon against AI. But those two letters; A and I, mean a lot of different things, and we shouldn’t conflate them,” he remarked. Generative AI, when applied thoughtfully, is not as footprint-heavy as critics suggest. He pointed to advertising’s long-standing reliance on global travel as a reminder that all production carries environmental costs.
For RÆBURN, the guiding principle remains integrity: choosing what is right for the idea and maximising its potential within budget. The film demonstrates how AI can be integrated into creative practice without abandoning sustainability, reinforcing the brand’s reputation for innovation rooted in responsibility.
