Telstra’s latest ‘Together is for Christmas’ campaign features an animated ghost story directed by Steve Rogers, highlighting two unlikely characters who find each other during the festive season. Created by Bear Meets Eagle On Fire, the film emphasizes genuine Christmas spirit, connection, and togetherness without relying on traditional holiday clichés.

Telstra has continued its ‘Together is for Christmas’ campaign with a heartwarming new animated short that emphasizes the joy of connection during the festive season. The latest installment, described by the agency as a “ghost story,” tells the tale of two unlikely characters who discover each other at the moment it matters most, capturing the essence of Christmas without relying on clichés.

Speaking to LBB, Micah Walker, CCO of Bear Meets Eagle On Fire, explained that the story centers on “two ill-fitting souls who find each other when it matters most.” Walker highlighted that the campaign delivers genuine Christmas spirit without leaning on traditional holiday storytelling crutches, making it resonate in an authentic, modern way.

The animated project is the first of its kind for director Steve Rogers from Revolver, who brings a fresh creative perspective to the festive tale. The short focuses on the universal theme of connection — finding your people, your sense of belonging, and warmth during the holiday season, even in unexpected places.

Tom Loudon, reporting on the campaign, noted that the story’s charm lies in its ability to blend whimsy with emotional depth. The narrative doesn’t rely on overt holiday tropes; instead, it captures small, meaningful moments that celebrate companionship and shared experiences, reminding viewers that the true essence of Christmas is togetherness.

By combining innovative animation with heartfelt storytelling, Telstra’s campaign reinforces its brand message that connection is at the heart of the holiday season. The campaign’s focus on authenticity and emotional resonance ensures that it stands out in a crowded festive advertising landscape, offering viewers both warmth and reflection.

Through this animated ghost story, Telstra continues to champion meaningful relationships, illustrating that the holiday season is as much about finding your people as it is about tradition. With its creative approach and emotional storytelling, the latest installment of ‘Together is for Christmas’ captures the magic of human connection, encouraging audiences to cherish the moments that matter most.
