UNIQLO APPOINTS KAMAN LEUNG COO FOR GERMANY AND POLAND

UNIQLO has appointed Kaman Leung as COO for Germany and Poland, effective 1 May 2026. A company veteran and Europe’s first female COO, she previously led Benelux operations and oversaw landmark store openings. Leung succeeds Kohsuke Kobayashi, now COO of Thailand, reinforcing UNIQLO’s focus on internal expertise and European growth.  

UNIQLO has announced the appointment of Kaman Leung as Chief Operating Officer for Germany and Poland, effective 1 May 2026. A seasoned leader within the company, Leung’s promotion underscores UNIQLO’s strategy of nurturing internal talent to drive growth across its European markets.  

Leung, who previously served as COO for the Benelux region, made history in 2020 as the first woman to hold such a leadership role for UNIQLO in Europe. Her tenure has been marked by significant milestones, including overseeing the launch of the brand’s debut stores in Berlin and Antwerp, both of which became pivotal in strengthening UNIQLO’s foothold in the continent. Her track record of operational excellence and strategic vision has positioned her as a trailblazer within the organisation, setting benchmarks for leadership diversity and expansion.  

She succeeds Kohsuke Kobayashi, who has transitioned to the role of COO for UNIQLO Thailand after leading the German and Polish markets since late 2024. Kobayashi’s tenure was instrumental in consolidating UNIQLO’s presence in Central Europe, and his move reflects the company’s broader approach of rotating experienced leaders across key territories to maximise impact.  

Leung’s appointment signals UNIQLO’s continued commitment to leveraging internal expertise and ensuring continuity in leadership. It also reflects the brand’s ambition to deepen its engagement with European consumers, where Germany and Poland represent critical growth markets. With her proven ability to navigate complex retail landscapes and deliver operational success, Leung is expected to play a central role in advancing UNIQLO’s European strategy.
