Global advertising powerhouse WPP has announced the appointment of Deepa Jatkar as India Head for OpenDoor, its bespoke unit dedicated to managing the Amazon media account. Jatkar, a seasoned professional with over two decades of experience in media and consumer technology, steps into the role with an impressive track record. She joined Wavemaker India, a WPP agency, in 2023 as Chief Growth Officer, where she played a pivotal role in driving business expansion. Prior to that, her tenure at Meta India showcased her expertise in digital media strategy, global sales, and marketing. At Meta, she was an integral part of the India sales leadership team, contributing to the company’s rapid growth in the region.

In her new role, Jatkar will be tasked with overseeing media planning and buying for Amazon in India, ensuring the e-commerce leader’s campaigns achieve maximum impact. Her extensive experience in the digital and technology space positions her to innovate and optimize media strategies, further solidifying Amazon’s footprint in the competitive Indian market.

This appointment underscores the critical importance of the Amazon account to WPP’s global portfolio.
