THE BEAR HOUSE STEPS INTO FOOTWEAR WITH PREMIUM SNEAKER DEBUT

The Bear House has launched its first premium footwear line, expanding beyond apparel into lifestyle offerings. Designed for modern professionals, the sneakers emphasise versatility, craftsmanship, and comfort. The move aligns with the brand’s retail expansion plans and evolving consumer preferences, positioning it as a comprehensive menswear and lifestyle destination.

Homegrown menswear label The Bear House has taken a decisive step into the footwear segment with the launch of “Sneakers by The Bear House,” signalling its ambition to evolve from a smart casual apparel brand into a broader lifestyle proposition.

The debut collection has been conceived for the urban professional whose daily routine moves fluidly between formal meetings, social engagements, and travel. Reflecting this dynamic lifestyle, the sneakers are crafted using premium leather and suede, with clean silhouettes and minimalist detailing that echo the brand’s established design language. A cushioned insole ensures all-day comfort, while a neutral colour palette allows the footwear to pair effortlessly with tailored trousers, denim, and smart casual ensembles.

For co-founder Tanvi Somaiya, the expansion into footwear represents a natural progression rooted in the brand’s core philosophy. She notes that the modern consumer no longer compartmentalises style, instead building wardrobes that transition seamlessly across occasions. The new sneaker line, she explains, aims to deliver understated, versatile essentials that prioritise quality over fleeting trends, staying true to the brand’s ethos of refinement without rigidity.

Echoing this sentiment, co-founder Harsh Somaiya highlights a broader shift in how Indian men approach fashion. Increasingly, there is a focus on craftsmanship, durability, and comfort, with sneakers emerging as a foundational element of contemporary dressing rather than a purely casual choice. The collection has therefore been engineered to strike a balance between sophistication and functionality, combining premium materials with thoughtful construction and everyday wearability.

Founded in 2017, The Bear House has steadily expanded its footprint from a direct-to-consumer digital brand into a multi-channel retail presence. Today, it operates over 13 exclusive brand outlets and is available in more than 150 shop-in-shop locations across India. The opening of its flagship 2,700 sq. ft. “Den of a Bear” store in Bengaluru’s Koramangala marked a significant milestone in its offline retail journey, which has since extended internationally with a presence in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

The launch of its sneaker line comes at a time when the brand is accelerating its growth strategy, with plans to open 25 new stores in the current financial year. “Sneakers by The Bear House” will be available across select retail outlets and online platforms nationwide, reinforcing the company’s ambition to offer a cohesive wardrobe solution for the modern Indian man.
