Billboard India has officially gone live, marking a landmark moment for the country’s music industry. Partnering with Other Side Ventures, the platform will showcase charts, awards, and editorial content across Hindi, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and more. Its debut cover features legendary composer Ilaiyaraaja, underscoring a commitment to celebrating India’s diverse musical heritage.

Billboard India has made its much-anticipated debut, entering the world’s most exhilarating music market at a time of unprecedented growth. Launched in partnership with Other Side Ventures Pvt. Ltd., the platform promises to redefine how Indian music is documented, celebrated, and projected globally. With its arrival, Billboard India brings the mother brand’s iconic offerings—charts, lists, awards, and multimedia editorial content—tailored to reflect the extraordinary diversity of India’s music ecosystem.

From the dominance of film soundtracks to the explosive rise of independent artists, Billboard India positions itself as the definitive voice for musicians across all languages, including Hindi, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and more. Priyanka Khimani, media advisor and driving force behind Other Side Ventures, captured the spirit of the launch: “India is already one of the world’s largest music markets by volume. Our growth story isn’t from one city or one language. It’s from every corner of this country.”

The choice of Ilaiyaraaja as the debut cover star underscores this ambition. The legendary composer, who has scored more than 1,500 films, celebrates his 50th year in music in 2026. His presence signals Billboard India’s commitment to honouring greatness across eras and genres. “There couldn’t have been a more superlative name to launch our first cover than Ilaiyaraaja. His legacy, body of work and music superiority speaks for themself. It was our privilege to be able to capture him as he celebrates an important milestone in his career,” Khimani added.

Billboard’s global leadership echoed this sentiment. Mike Van, CEO of Billboard, emphasised the significance of the Indian launch: “At Billboard, we are committed to celebrating any music ecosystem that includes artists, executives, trends, achievements and stories shaping today’s global music landscape. Billboard India marks an exciting step in that mission, as the Indian music industry and its global diaspora continue to command growing attention and influence worldwide. With a market as culturally rich and diverse as India, this launch reflects both the scale of the opportunity and the strength of the Billboard India team, whose depth and editorial ambition set a powerful foundation for what’s ahead.”

Driving this vision is a leadership team with deep editorial and creative expertise. Preeti Nayyar has been appointed Chief Operating Officer, while Mohini Chaudhuri takes on the role of Content Strategy Director. Amruta Ramesh joins as Creative Director, and Vidya Sivalenka as Charts Lead, ensuring that the platform’s offerings are both rigorous and resonant.

Billboard India’s arrival is more than a media launch—it is a cultural milestone. By amplifying voices across languages and genres, it seeks to capture the full breadth of India’s musical story, from heritage icons to contemporary innovators. As the industry continues to expand, Billboard India positions itself as both chronicler and champion of a market whose influence is increasingly global.
