Pantone has unveiled PANTONE 18-4525 Vacation, a vibrant turquoise inspired by sunlit pools and summer skies. Positioned as a colour of the season, it reflects Pantone’s ongoing mission to explore how colour shapes emotion, creativity, and design. The announcement underscores Pantone’s role as a global authority in colour direction.

Pantone has announced its latest seasonal inspiration with PANTONE 18-4525 Vacation, a turquoise shade that blends the brightness of sunlight with the cool serenity of poolside water. Defined as “1 part sun + 1 part pool,” Vacation is being positioned as a colour that captures the essence of leisure, optimism, and escape. While Pantone has not yet confirmed it as the definitive colour of the season, the shade is already being promoted as a fresh lens through which designers and consumers can experience summer.

For more than 50 years, Pantone has been recognised as the global authority on colour, providing professional standards that guide industries ranging from fashion and interiors to branding and product design. Its influence extends beyond technical palettes; Pantone has consistently encouraged creative exploration, helping professionals and consumers alike to harness colour as a tool for storytelling and emotional resonance.

Central to this mission is the Pantone Color Institute, which continues to chart future colour directions while studying how colour affects human thought, emotion, and physical response. The Institute’s work ensures that colour is not only a matter of aesthetics but also a force that shapes perception and behaviour. Vacation, with its balance of warmth and coolness, exemplifies this philosophy by offering a hue that feels both energising and calming.

Pantone’s seasonal announcements often spark conversations across creative industries, and Vacation is no exception. Its turquoise vibrancy is expected to influence design choices in fashion collections, lifestyle products, and digital aesthetics, while also resonating with consumers seeking visual cues of relaxation and joy. The colour’s duality—sun and pool—makes it versatile, capable of evoking both playful exuberance and tranquil escape.

Beyond professional circles, Pantone continues to inspire everyday creativity through designer-led products and consumer services. By offering accessible ways to engage with colour, from lifestyle collaborations to digital tools, Pantone ensures its palettes are not confined to studios but become part of daily life. Vacation’s introduction is a reminder of how colour can define not just trends but moods, identities, and shared cultural experiences.

As Pantone invites audiences to “try much more,” Vacation represents more than a single shade—it is a call to embrace colour as a living, evolving language. Whether it becomes the definitive colour of the season or simply a spark of inspiration, PANTONE 18-4525 Vacation reinforces the company’s enduring role in shaping how the world sees and feels colour.
