UNIQLO UNVEILS SCALABLE UPCYCLED CAPSULE WITH CENTRAL SAINT MARTINS

UNIQLO has launched “Everyday Re.Imagined,” its first scalable upcycled collection, created with Central Saint Martins graduates. Debuting across 15 RE.UNIQLO Studios in Europe, the 10-piece capsule repurposes customer returns into expressive, affordable fashion. The initiative sets a blueprint for circular supply chains, shifting sustainable clothing into mainstream lifestyle standards.

Japanese global apparel retailer UNIQLO has taken a decisive step in redefining sustainable fashion with the launch of its first scalable upcycled collection, “Everyday Re.Imagined.” Developed in collaboration with design graduates from London’s prestigious Central Saint Martins, University of The Arts London, the capsule debuted on 25 June 2026 across 15 RE.UNIQLO Studios in the UK and Europe.

The limited-edition 10-piece range demonstrates how circular fashion can be both desirable and accessible. Repurposed customer-returned items form the backbone of the collection, with rebuilt trousers and creatively reshaped AIRism T-shirts among the highlights. Each piece embodies a philosophy of reimagining waste into expressive design, challenging the perception that sustainable fashion must be niche or premium.

Maria Samoto le Dous, Head of Sustainability for UNIQLO Europe, emphasised that the framework underpinning this launch is designed as a long-term corporate blueprint. In-store teams will be able to continuously adapt and reproduce the upcycled designs based on local consumer demand and available materials. This dynamic approach ensures that sustainability is embedded into everyday retail operations rather than treated as a one-off experiment.

Affordability is central to the strategy. With prices ranging from £29.90 to £89.90, UNIQLO is deliberately positioning upcycled fashion within reach of mainstream consumers. By maintaining this accessible price architecture, the Fast Retailing subsidiary aims to shift consumer mindsets away from viewing sustainable clothing as a compromise and towards embracing upcycling as a lifestyle standard.

For industry professionals, the initiative offers more than a capsule collection. Retail operations executives, sustainable product developers, and apparel procurement directors will recognise in “Everyday Re.Imagined” a critical roadmap for executing high-volume, creative textile waste management within vertical supply chain infrastructures. It demonstrates how commercial scalability and creative design can coexist in circular fashion, providing a replicable model for global adoption.

The collaboration with Central Saint Martins graduates also underscores UNIQLO’s commitment to nurturing new design talent while embedding sustainability into its creative DNA. By bridging academic innovation with retail pragmatism, the project highlights how partnerships can accelerate the transition to a circular economy.

As the collection rolls out across Europe, UNIQLO’s experiment in scalable upcycling signals a broader ambition: to normalise sustainable practices across its global operations. “Everyday Re.Imagined” is not just a capsule, but a statement of intent—one that positions UNIQLO at the forefront of accessible, creative, and commercially viable circular fashion.
