Women Empowered Global (WEG), a network of award‑winning female leaders, corporate CXOs, entrepreneurs, experts and thought leaders spanning six continents, has announced the launch of the ‘WEG Leadership Lab’. The 24‑week virtual intensive programme, commencing on 26 September, is designed exclusively for women leaders seeking to accelerate their careers, amplify leadership visibility and drive transformational growth.
The Leadership Lab builds on WEG’s flagship initiatives, including the 1 Million Women in Power campaign, the African Women Leadership Forum, the Business Hub, and the Global Online Academy. With more than 4,000 members worldwide, WEG’s platform facilitates international exposure and career development, offering professionals a transformative journey to step boldly into leadership roles both locally and internationally.
The programme is spearheaded by Senela Jayasuriya (MBA, UK), an internationally recognised leadership and empowerment coach, keynote speaker and certified expert. Jayasuriya has successfully delivered leadership development programmes to more than 20,000 professionals, collaborating with DEI specialists, corporate boards, and HR leaders to advance women’s careers, visibility, equity and inclusion. Her global recognition includes the ‘Global CEO Top Businesswomen Award 2025’, the ‘Exceptional Women of Excellence’ award by the Women Economic Forum, the ‘Women Icons Asia’ award, and the ‘Global Women in Leadership Award 2022’. She was also named among THE TOP 150 GLOBAL WOMEN LEADERS by GCPIT and is the founder of the One Million Women in Power campaign.
Her work has been featured across magazines, podcasts, television shows and thought‑leadership panels in the USA, UK, Norway, Germany, Australia, Africa, Singapore, Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka. She is also one of 13 trailblazing women profiled in the book Women Going Global, released during Global Entrepreneurship Week USA, a movement dedicated to increasing gender equality in international trade.
The launch of the WEG Leadership Lab underscores the organisation’s commitment to empowering women leaders worldwide, equipping them with the tools, networks and confidence to shape the future of business and society.
