Omnicom Media Australia has appointed Tom Kirkham as Chief Solutions Officer, a new role designed to drive integrated client solutions and digital growth. Returning from WPP Media, Kirkham will connect strategy, data and technology to deliver scalable outcomes, reporting directly to CEO Kristiaan Kroon from October.

Omnicom Media (OM) Australia has appointed Tom Kirkham to the newly created role of Chief Solutions Officer, a strategic leadership position designed to accelerate the company’s next phase of growth through connected digital capabilities and integrated client solutions. Kirkham, who joins from WPP Media where he served as General Manager, Partnerships, Data & Platforms, returns to Omnicom after spending much of his career with OMD in both the UK and Australia.

Working closely with David Gatt, Omnicom Oceania’s Group Managing Director, Marketing Operations & Ecosystem Design, Kirkham will focus on connecting client strategy, operating models, data, technology and delivery into scalable growth solutions. His appointment underscores OM’s continued investment in building integrated capabilities that combine media, data, technology, strategy and AI-enabled offerings to help clients navigate complex business challenges and achieve stronger commercial outcomes.

Kristiaan Kroon, CEO of Omnicom Media Australia, described Kirkham’s appointment as a significant investment in the future of the business. “Tom is one of those rare leaders who combines deep technical expertise with exceptional commercial thinking, but what truly sets him apart is his ability to make the complex simple. He’s a genuine human being who excels at bringing clients, our teams and partners with him. As marketers face increasing complexity across channels, platforms, data and technology, Tom has an extraordinary ability to cut through the noise,” Kroon said. He added that the role signals how Omnicom Media is evolving its structure and capabilities, harnessing the broader strengths of Omnicom Oceania to deliver greater simplicity, sharper specialist thinking and more joined-up solutions for clients.

Kirkham expressed his enthusiasm about returning to Omnicom Media at a pivotal time for the industry. “Returning to Omnicom Media in a leadership role designed to shape the next era of client solutions is an incredible opportunity. I believe brand growth will increasingly come down to how well data, media and technology connect as a system. I can’t wait to work with the talented people already enabling Omnicom Media’s solutions today to uncover new levers of growth,” he said. He also acknowledged the valuable experience gained during his time at WPP Media, which he intends to carry into his new role.

Reporting directly to Kristiaan Kroon, Kirkham will commence his new position in October, reinforcing Omnicom Media’s commitment to building future-ready solutions that deliver measurable growth for clients in an increasingly dynamic marketplace.
