Galeries Lafayette India, the Mumbai-based arm of the iconic French luxury department store group, has announced the appointment of Noopur Khandekar as its Head of Brand Marketing, effective August 2026. The move underscores the retailer’s ambition to strengthen its identity and customer experience as it deepens its footprint in India’s fashion and luxury market.
In her new role, Khandekar will lead brand-building initiatives, shaping Galeries Lafayette’s positioning in Mumbai and beyond. She will focus on crafting a distinctive brand identity and developing customer experiences that resonate with the Indian luxury consumer. Describing the opportunity as an “exciting new chapter” for the company, she is expected to play a pivotal role in translating the retailer’s global prestige into local relevance.
Khandekar joins Galeries Lafayette India after serving as Senior Vice President at Tilt Brand Solutions for a year and a half, where she honed her expertise in strategic brand development. Prior to that, she spent nearly six years at Spring Marketing Capital between 2019 and 2024, working as a Portfolio Associate. There, she was instrumental in building creative strategies, generating consumer insights, and managing stakeholder relationships for prominent brands including Zoya, Epigamia, 82°E and Hindustan Unilever. Her work contributed to strengthening brand visibility and driving consumer engagement across diverse categories.
Her career trajectory reflects a steady rise through India’s advertising and brand marketing ecosystem. Between 2011 and 2018, she held senior roles across the MullenLowe Lintas Group network, advancing from Brand Services Manager to Associate Vice President. Her responsibilities spanned account management, strategy and planning across the group’s Mumbai and Gurugram offices, where she worked on campaigns that blended creativity with consumer insight. She began her career in 2010 as a Brand Consultant at Rediffusion Y&R, laying the foundation for her expertise in brand strategy and communications.
With more than 15 years of experience across agencies and consultancies, Khandekar’s appointment marks a significant milestone for Galeries Lafayette India. As the French retail major builds out its leadership team in Mumbai, her blend of strategic acumen, creative vision and consumer understanding is expected to help the brand carve a distinctive space in India’s luxury retail landscape.
