TVS Motor Company has announced the appointment of Peyman Kargar as Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective 27 January 2027. He will succeed K. N. Radhakrishnan, who will continue in his current role until the transition date and thereafter serve as Non-Executive Director until the Annual General Meeting scheduled for July 2027.

The leadership change marks a significant moment for TVS Motor, one of India’s leading two-wheeler and three-wheeler manufacturers, as it prepares for its next phase of growth in a rapidly evolving global automotive landscape. Radhakrishnan, who has been instrumental in steering the company through transformative years, will remain engaged with the board to ensure continuity and stability during the transition. His tenure has been defined by a focus on innovation, customer-centric strategies and strengthening TVS Motor’s position in both domestic and international markets.

Peyman Kargar, currently serving as President, International Business, brings with him more than three decades of global automotive leadership experience. His career spans Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East, giving him a uniquely international perspective that aligns with TVS Motor’s ambitions to expand its footprint across diverse geographies. Kargar’s expertise in managing complex markets and driving growth in competitive environments is expected to play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s global strategy.

The appointment underscores TVS Motor’s commitment to reinforcing its leadership team with seasoned professionals who can navigate the challenges of electrification, sustainability, and digital transformation in the automotive sector. Kargar’s track record in building international businesses and fostering cross-cultural collaborations positions him as a strong successor to Radhakrishnan. His leadership is anticipated to accelerate TVS Motor’s efforts in strengthening its global presence, enhancing product innovation, and deepening customer engagement.

For Radhakrishnan, the move to a Non-Executive Director role reflects both continuity and respect for his contributions. His guidance will remain available to the board until July 2027, ensuring that the transition is seamless and that the company benefits from his institutional knowledge.

As TVS Motor prepares for this leadership change, industry observers view the appointment as a strategic step towards consolidating its global ambitions. With Kargar at the helm, the company is expected to intensify its focus on international markets, while continuing to build on its strong domestic base. The transition reflects TVS Motor’s emphasis on blending legacy with fresh global perspectives, ensuring that it remains competitive in an industry undergoing rapid transformation.
