Prativa Mohapatra has stepped down as Vice President and Managing Director of Adobe India after nearly five years. Announcing her departure on LinkedIn, she said she would take a pause before starting a new journey. Her tenure saw Adobe India expand significantly, strengthening its role as a global innovation hub.

Prativa Mohapatra has announced her departure from Adobe India, stepping down from her role as Vice President and Managing Director after nearly five years at the helm. Mohapatra, who took charge in 2021, shared the update in a LinkedIn post, stating she would be taking a pause before embarking on a new professional journey.

Her message reflected both gratitude and anticipation for what lies ahead. “Switching gears, taking a pause and refreshing before a new journey. After a very fulfilling nearly 5 years at Adobe India, it’s time to move on. Would like to take this opportunity to thank my customers, partners, colleagues and all stakeholders for their engagement and support along the way. See you on the other side!” she wrote.

Mohapatra’s tenure at Adobe India coincided with a period of significant expansion and innovation for the company in the region. Under her leadership, Adobe strengthened its presence in India, which has become the company’s largest workforce base outside the United States. The India operations have played a pivotal role in driving global innovation, customer engagement, and product development.

Her leadership was marked by initiatives that underscored Adobe’s commitment to democratising creativity and empowering diverse audiences. The company rolled out free access to AI tools for students, nurturing the next generation of creative talent, and partnered with Airtel to offer Adobe Express Premium to 360 million users, expanding its reach across India’s vast digital ecosystem. These moves highlighted Adobe’s dual focus on fostering innovation and widening accessibility, with Mohapatra at the forefront of these efforts.

Industry observers note that Mohapatra’s departure comes at a time when Adobe continues to deepen its India footprint, including the recent opening of a new office in Noida to house over 700 employees. Her exit marks the end of a chapter that saw Adobe India evolve into a strategic hub for the company’s global ambitions.

Mohapatra, who has been widely respected for her leadership style and ability to balance business impact with creative vision, leaves behind a legacy of growth and transformation. Her decision to take a break before beginning a new journey signals a reflective pause in a career that has spanned leadership roles across the technology and business landscape.

As Adobe India transitions to new leadership, Mohapatra’s departure will be closely watched by industry peers and stakeholders. Her next move is expected to generate considerable interest, given her track record of steering organisations through periods of change and innovation. For now, her farewell message captures both closure and optimism, a fitting end to a tenure that shaped Adobe’s India story in meaningful ways.
