OMD, part of Omnicom Media Group, has been appointed as the media agency for Qantas Group in Asia following a competitive pitch. The remit covers Qantas and Jetstar across seven markets, consolidating APAC responsibilities with OMD and extending a partnership that has been in place in Australia and New Zealand since 2015.

OMD has been awarded the media agency mandate for Qantas Group in Asia, strengthening its long-standing partnership with the airline across the region. The appointment follows a pitch process and will see OMD oversee media strategy, planning, and buying for Qantas and Jetstar in Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Japan, alongside regional campaigns.

The decision consolidates the Qantas Group’s media remit in Asia-Pacific with OMD, building on a successful collaboration in Australia and New Zealand that has been in place for more than a decade. Singapore and Japan will serve as key hubs for the expanded remit, reflecting the strategic importance of these markets in driving regional growth and connectivity.

Charlotte Lee, President of OMD APAC, said the appointment underscored the strength of the partnership and the trust built between the two organisations. “This expansion and consolidation reflect the strength of our partnership with Qantas and the trust we have built together across the APAC region over many years. As consumer journeys become increasingly fragmented and new purchase pathways continue to emerge, data, technology and innovation are critical to helping brands stay connected to their audiences. By combining our industry-leading tools and technology with world-class talent and capabilities, we are able to simplify complexity, unlock growth opportunities, and create more meaningful connections between Qantas and its customers.”

The move highlights the growing importance of integrated media solutions in navigating complex consumer landscapes across Asia. For Qantas Group, the consolidation ensures consistency in brand messaging and efficiency in execution, while leveraging OMD’s regional expertise and technological capabilities. For OMD, it represents a significant expansion of its airline portfolio and a reaffirmation of its position as a leading media partner in Asia-Pacific.
