Cathay Pacific has partnered with ANYDOKO Studios to release an 18‑minute documentary exploring Asia’s diverse coffee cultures. Filmed across seven cities, the cinematic project transforms a successful editorial feature into long‑form storytelling, blending Cathay’s on‑screen talent with local baristas to showcase unique brews and strengthen the airline’s travel authority.
Cathay Pacific has unveiled a new 18‑minute documentary in collaboration with creative production company ANYDOKO Studios, spotlighting the rich and varied coffee cultures of Asia. The film, now live on Cathay’s online platform Inspiration, is the latest instalment in the airline’s Gateway to Asia series, which curates travel inspiration from across the region.
The project represents a bold step into cinematic storytelling, evolving from a popular editorial feature in Cathay’s print magazine and digital channels into a premium long‑form film. Shot across seven cities, the documentary gives audiences time to savour the characters and traditions behind each brew, from traditional kopi in a Singaporean hawker centre to egg coffee in Ho Chi Minh City, and even a rice‑wine‑infused latte in Shenzhen.
Cathay’s own in‑house on‑screen talent appear alongside passionate local baristas, weaving together personal stories and cultural histories. “ANYDOKO helped bring to life a story that showcases our expertise as a trusted travel authority,” said Courtney Murray, Content Marketing Manager at Cathay Pacific. “We’re incredibly happy with the result. It is a compelling piece of content that engages audiences, inspires travel, and strengthens trust and consideration for travel with Cathay.”
For ANYDOKO Studios, the creative production arm of the travel and food content channel ANYDOKO, the collaboration was an opportunity to expand the narrative. “The initial conversation was around a shorter piece of content, but we knew these stories deserved a longer, more immersive format,” explained Vikash Autar, Creative Director at ANYDOKO Studios. “Cathay was fully on board with creating something more in‑depth. It also allowed us to work closely with Cathay’s own talent, preparing them for a longer documentary format as we travelled across seven cities to capture the essence of each destination.”
Handled end‑to‑end by ANYDOKO Studios, the production underscores the growing appetite for branded content that transcends advertising, offering audiences authentic cultural experiences. By blending travel, storytelling and cinematic craft, Cathay Pacific’s latest film not only celebrates Asia’s coffee traditions but also reinforces the airline’s positioning as a gateway to the region.
