Alcobrew Distilleries India Limited has rolled out its debut luxury whisky, Gamber Valley Indian Single Malt, in Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh. Distilled, matured and bottled in Solan, the range includes Private 1 Edition and The Vault Series, marking a strategic expansion backed by IMWA membership and international recognition.

Alcobrew Distilleries India Limited has announced the availability of its flagship single malt whisky, Gamber Valley, in Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh, marking a significant milestone in the brand’s rollout strategy. First unveiled in May 2026, the brand identified Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh as its initial launch markets, reflecting both provenance and consumer potential.

Crafted entirely at Alcobrew’s Solan facility, Gamber Valley builds its identity around the Himalayan terroir. The distillery’s location at altitude is central to its narrative, with sharp swings between day and night temperatures accelerating the whisky’s interaction with oak casks. This process, the company notes, draws out wood sugars, tannins and flavour more quickly than in sea-level climates, imparting a distinctive character to the spirit.

The debut range comprises two expressions: Gamber Valley Private 1 Edition and Gamber Valley The Vault Series. With the latest rollout, both expressions are now available across Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh, with Alcobrew confirming a phased expansion into Rajasthan, Odisha, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Delhi NCR in the coming months.

The company’s leadership underscored the significance of Chandigarh as a launch market. Romesh Pandita, Chairman and Managing Director, Alcobrew Distilleries India Limited, said: “Gamber Valley is a creation of Solan, that’s where the spirit is distilled, matured and bottled. Chandigarh is also home to us in every real sense: with our other unit in Dera Bassi standing alongside our distillery in Solan, this isn’t just another market for us, it’s family.”

Ashutosh Rajput, Chief Operating Officer, Alcobrew Distilleries India Limited, added: “These two markets have everything a luxury spirits brand looks for — a young, cosmopolitan consumer base that’s willing to explore. It’s a natural home for Gamber Valley. The consumer base at these markets drink with intent, not just habit — and that’s exactly the audience a single malt is made for. We believe the world’s most discerning whisky drinkers will, in time, reach for an Indian bottle with the same instinct they once reserved for other geographies.”

Gamber Valley’s credentials have already been recognised internationally. Earlier this year, the brand earned a score of 92 points at the International Wine & Spirits Competition (IWSC) 2026, placing it among the highest-rated Indian single malts acknowledged by the competition. This accolade strengthens its positioning as a premium entrant in the global whisky landscape.

Alcobrew has also joined the Indian Malt Whisky Association (IMWA), aligning itself with the collective effort to promote and strengthen the identity of Indian single malt whisky worldwide. The membership signals the company’s commitment to contributing to the category’s growth and recognition, both domestically and internationally.

With its Himalayan provenance, distinctive maturation process and international acclaim, Gamber Valley represents Alcobrew’s ambition to redefine perceptions of Indian single malt. The expansion into Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh not only consolidates its presence in northern India but also sets the stage for a broader journey across the country’s luxury spirits market.
