HYUNDAI MARKS 30 YEARS OF GROWTH IN INDIA WITH FILM ON TRUST, INNOVATION AND MOBILITY

Hyundai Motor India celebrates three decades in the country with a film tracing its journey from challenger brand to technology-led mobility leader. Featuring leadership and customer perspectives, the film highlights iconic models, localisation, innovation and long-term commitment that have made India Hyundai’s second-largest market and a hub for future mobility ambitions.

Hyundai Motor India is marking 30 years of operations in the country with a film that captures its evolution from a newcomer in a growing car market to a technology-driven company shaping India’s mobility future. The film reflects on how Hyundai has earned the trust of millions of customers, built a deeply local manufacturing and supplier ecosystem, and aligned itself with India’s ambitions for cleaner, smarter mobility.

When Hyundai entered India in the late 1990s, the market was opening up to global players and consumer aspirations were shifting rapidly. The launch of the Santro became a defining moment, combining affordability with modern design and backed by strong localisation. It was more than just a car; it symbolised a new era of mobility for Indian families. Over time, Hyundai expanded its portfolio with models such as the CRETA, which reshaped the SUV segment, and the IONIQ 5, which underscored the company’s commitment to electric mobility.

The film interweaves perspectives from Hyundai’s leadership and customers, emphasising how localisation has been central to its success. By investing in manufacturing facilities, nurturing supplier networks and embedding itself in the Indian economy, Hyundai has created a robust ecosystem that supports exports and innovation. This long-term commitment has helped India become Hyundai Motor’s second-largest market globally, a position that reflects both scale and strategic importance.

Innovation is another theme running through the narrative. Hyundai’s journey in India has mirrored the country’s own transformation, from early aspirations of modernisation to today’s focus on sustainability and technology. The company’s investments in future mobility, including electric vehicles and connected technologies, are presented as part of a broader vision to accelerate India’s transition towards cleaner and smarter transport solutions.

Customer voices in the film highlight the emotional bond that has developed over the years. For many, Hyundai cars have been companions in family milestones, professional journeys and lifestyle shifts. This resonance has reinforced the brand’s image as trustworthy and progressive, while also demonstrating how mobility can be deeply personal and cultural.

The film positions Hyundai’s 30-year journey not just as a corporate milestone but as a shared story with India itself. It underscores how a challenger brand became a household name, how innovation and localisation built resilience, and how long-term commitment created enduring trust. As India looks ahead to a future defined by sustainability and advanced mobility, Hyundai’s role as a partner in that journey is reaffirmed.

By celebrating its past while pointing firmly towards the future, Hyundai’s film encapsulates the essence of its presence in India: a blend of aspiration, innovation and trust that continues to shape the country’s automotive landscape.
