The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) has appointed Belinda Drew as its new Head of Marketing, effective early 2026. Drew, currently the Chief Client Officer at Droga5 ANZ, brings over two decades of experience in leading major brands across Australia and North America to her new role.

Drew’s appointment is a significant coup for the ABC, with her reputation for creative leadership and evidence-based marketing effectiveness expected to deepen the connection between the broadcaster and its audiences. “This appointment reinforces our commitment to showcasing Australia’s creative excellence, not just in our content, but in our marketing as well,” said Milla McPhee, ABC Director of Audience, who previously worked with Drew at Droga5.

Drew’s experience in marketing and client leadership spans agencies such as Leo Burnett, TBWA, and Ogilvy, where she led teams working on iconic brands including Telstra, Qantas, and Meat & Livestock Australia. Her work has been recognized with numerous awards, including at Cannes Lions, D&AD, and the One Show.

As Head of Marketing, Drew will be responsible for shaping the ABC’s marketing strategy and creative vision. She replaces Karen Madden, who held the role since 2021.

Drew’s appointment is part of the ABC’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its connection with audiences and promote Australian creative excellence. “Belinda’s reputation for creative leadership and evidence-based marketing effectiveness will help us deepen the connection between the ABC and our audiences,” McPhee said.

Drew’s experience and expertise are expected to play a key role in shaping the ABC’s marketing efforts and promoting its content to a wider audience. Her appointment is a testament to the ABC’s commitment to investing in its marketing team and promoting Australian creative talent.
