CAMBRIDGE ENGLISH HONOURS SRI LANKA’S LEADING CENTRES

Cambridge English has celebrated Sri Lanka’s top-performing preparation centres and distributors at a national conference, recognising excellence in learner progress across listening, speaking, reading and writing. Twelve awards were presented, alongside special honours for institutions demonstrating outstanding commitment to English language education, reinforcing Cambridge’s role as a global benchmark in assessment.

Cambridge English has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing English language education in Sri Lanka by recognising the island’s best-performing preparation centres and distributors at a prestigious conference. The event highlighted learner progress across listening, speaking, reading and writing, with Cambridge English Qualifications providing internationally recognised benchmarks aligned to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). These qualifications enable schools to track development and identify areas requiring targeted support, ensuring that learners receive the guidance needed to achieve global standards.  

Twelve top awards were presented for excellence, with special honours bestowed upon institutions that have demonstrated exceptional dedication to English language teaching and assessment. Among the Special Award Winners were Boswell College International, Kalutara; Cambridge College of British English; Cambridge College of Linguistics & Education (Pvt) Ltd, Colombo; English House (Local & Foreign Exam Centre), Minuwangoda; ESOL College International; Gateway Language Centre, Colombo; Institute of British Examinations, Negombo; St. John Paul II Institute of Higher Education, Wennappuwa; St. Sebastian’s English Language Academy, Moratuwa; UNEX College of Higher Education, Kurunegala; and Vinex College of English, Kurunegala.  

The recognition extended to top distributors of Cambridge resources, underscoring the vital role of partners in supporting schools and learners nationwide. By honouring these institutions, Cambridge English has highlighted the collective effort required to raise standards and unlock opportunities for students across Sri Lanka.
