The Indian Supercross Racing League (ISRL) has announced the appointment of Arun Kumar Rao as president – commercial partnerships, marking a significant leadership addition as the league accelerates its growth trajectory. Rao brings more than 25 years of experience across sports, media, entertainment and advertising, having held senior roles at Havas Play, Disney India, The Times of India Group, Odisha FC, Dish TV India and TBWA India.
In his new role, Rao will be responsible for building and scaling ISRL’s commercial framework, with a focus on forging long-term partnerships and enhancing the league’s positioning within India’s motorsports and youth entertainment ecosystem. Commenting on his appointment, Rao said: “Indian Supercross Racing League brings together competitive racing, fan experiences, lifestyle culture, and the wider automotive ecosystem. The platform has already demonstrated strong momentum and immense future potential. I look forward to building a robust commercial framework that delivers long-term value for partners while helping elevate motorsports into a mainstream youth entertainment category in India.”
Veer Patel, managing director and co-founder of ISRL, emphasised the strategic importance of Rao’s appointment, noting his extensive track record in commercial leadership and partnership building. “Arun Rao brings extensive commercial and strategic leadership experience, with a strong track record in building high impact partnerships and scaling consumer facing platforms. As Indian Supercross Racing League enters its next phase of expansion, his leadership and industry relationships will play an important role in scaling the league’s commercial ecosystem and long-term growth,” Patel said.
ISRL, which is backed by Bollywood actor Salman Khan as brand ambassador and investor, has positioned itself as a pioneering motorsports property in India, blending competitive racing with lifestyle and entertainment elements to appeal to younger audiences. Rao’s appointment is expected to strengthen ISRL’s ability to attract sponsors, deepen fan engagement and establish motorsports as a mainstream category in India’s evolving entertainment and sports landscape.
