Philippine Airlines will expand its India footprint with three weekly nonstop flights from Delhi to Manila and its first Mumbai–Manila service operating four times a week from December 2026, subject to Indian Government approval. The new routes promise seamless access to the Philippines and onward global connections via Manila.
Philippine Airlines (PAL), Asia’s oldest carrier still flying under its original name, has unveiled ambitious plans to strengthen its presence in India. Beginning December 2026, subject to regulatory clearance, PAL will introduce three weekly nonstop flights between Delhi and Manila, alongside its first-ever Mumbai–Manila service, scheduled four times a week.
The announcement marks a significant expansion of PAL’s international network and signals the airline’s intent to tap into India’s fast-growing outbound travel market. For Indian travellers, the new services will provide direct access to the Philippines, a destination renowned for its pristine beaches, vibrant culture and warm hospitality. More importantly, the Manila hub will serve as a gateway to PAL’s extensive global network, offering onward connections to Southeast Asia, North America, Australia and North Asia.
Industry observers note that the timing is strategic. India’s outbound tourism has been surging, with travellers increasingly seeking new destinations beyond traditional favourites. The Philippines, with its blend of natural beauty and cosmopolitan appeal, is well positioned to attract this demand. Direct connectivity eliminates the need for time-consuming stopovers, making the journey more convenient and appealing to both leisure and business travellers.
For PAL, the expansion underscores its commitment to building stronger links with South Asia. The airline already operates a robust international schedule, but the addition of Delhi and Mumbai routes represents a decisive step in broadening its reach. Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport, serving as PAL’s hub, will play a pivotal role in facilitating smooth transfers to destinations such as Tokyo, Sydney, Los Angeles and Singapore.
The move also reflects broader trends in aviation, where carriers are increasingly focusing on point-to-point connectivity to meet evolving passenger preferences. By offering direct flights, PAL not only enhances convenience but also strengthens its competitive positioning against regional rivals.
While final approval from Indian authorities remains pending, the announcement has been welcomed by travel industry stakeholders. Tour operators anticipate heightened interest in Philippine packages, while business communities see potential for closer ties between India and the Philippines.
As December 2026 approaches, anticipation will build among travellers eager to explore new horizons. For Philippine Airlines, the new routes are more than just an expansion—they are a bridge between two dynamic nations, promising to enrich tourism, trade and cultural exchange.
