Prime Video has partnered with Hrithik Roshan’s HRX Films and Rajesh A Krishnan’s Soda Films Lab to produce Mess, a Prime Original comedy about robbers trapped in a house with an OCD host. With an adapted screenplay by Kapil Sawant, the film promises chaos, humour, and unconventional storytelling.
Prime Video has announced its latest collaboration with HRX Films, unveiling Mess as an upcoming Prime Original movie. This marks the second partnership between the streaming platform and the production house, following the thriller series Storm.
Produced by Hrithik Roshan and Eshaan Roshan under HRX Films, alongside Rajesh A Krishnan’s Soda Films Lab, the film will be directed by Krishnan. The original screenplay was penned by American writer Paul Soter, with Kapil Sawant adapting it for Indian audiences and writing the dialogues.
Mess follows a motley group of robbers who invade the home of a man with obsessive-compulsive disorder, only to discover that it is they who must endure a night-long standoff. The premise blends comedy with chaos, promising a fresh take on the genre.
Nikhil Madhok, Director and Head of Originals at Prime Video India, described the film as “a story that not only surprises but entertains at every step,” praising its originality and quirky characters. He emphasised the creative synergy with HRX Films, noting that after Storm, this project deepens their partnership.
Hrithik Roshan expressed excitement about the film, calling it “a natural next step” in HRX Films’ journey with Prime Video. He highlighted Krishnan’s ability to merge humour with compelling narratives, adding that the project embodies bold, innovative storytelling.
Krishnan himself spoke of the rewarding collaboration with Sawant, describing the film as “a thrilling amalgamation of comedy and chaos.” He credited Hrithik and Eshaan Roshan for their conviction and support, affirming that Mess has found its ideal home with Prime Video.
With production set to begin soon, Mess is positioned as a distinctive comedy that aims to resonate with audiences in India and beyond, offering a blend of humour, unpredictability, and inventive storytelling.
