The Victoria Racing Club has once again partnered with indie agency Thinkerbell to extend its acclaimed ‘Fancy a Gallop?’ brand platform, unveiling a cinematic invitation to the 2026 Melbourne Cup Carnival. The campaign celebrates racing, fashion, dining and entertainment, positioning the Carnival as a cultural spectacle for all.

The Melbourne Cup Carnival has long been a fixture of Australia’s sporting and social calendar, but in 2026 it is being presented with fresh creative energy. Victoria Racing Club, working with Thinkerbell, has extended the ‘Fancy a Gallop?’ platform to invite audiences into an elevated experience that blends tradition with contemporary flair.

The campaign is designed as both a teaser and a call to action, encouraging racegoers to embrace the Carnival as more than a racing event. It positions Flemington as a stage where thrilling sport meets high fashion, fine dining and world-class entertainment. By doing so, it underscores the Carnival’s evolution into a cultural phenomenon that resonates far beyond the racetrack.

At the heart of the creative work is a cinematic film supported by a suite of assets that invite attendees to awaken their seasonal alter-ego. Thinkerbell’s vision bridges editorial high fashion with the uninhibited energy of Carnival Week, creating a sensory feast that mirrors the atmosphere of Flemington. The campaign celebrates the diverse personalities that make up the crowd — from the glamorous ‘Show Ponies’ to the industrious ‘Work Horses’ and the spirited ‘Wild Horses’. Each archetype reflects the vibrancy of the audience, reinforcing the idea that the Carnival offers something for everyone.

The creative approach is deliberately inclusive, recognising that the Melbourne Cup Carnival is as much about the people as it is about the horses. By appealing to different identities and energies, the campaign captures the essence of the event as a shared spectacle. It is a celebration of individuality within a collective experience, where fashion statements, culinary indulgence and sporting drama converge.

Thinkerbell’s work continues to build on the success of the ‘Fancy a Gallop?’ platform, which has become synonymous with the Carnival’s modern identity. The 2026 iteration elevates the brand further, positioning the Carnival as a destination for cultural engagement as well as sporting excellence. For Victoria Racing Club, the campaign is both an invitation and a promise — that the Melbourne Cup Carnival remains one of the world’s most distinctive events, offering a blend of tradition, glamour and excitement that is uniquely Australian.
