boAt has promoted Vedansh Kumar to Chief Marketing Officer, marking a milestone in his nearly three-year journey with the audio and wearables brand. Announcing the news on LinkedIn, Kumar reflected on his growth, thanked the leadership team, and pledged to further strengthen boAt’s marketing vision and cultural resonance.

boAt has promoted Vedansh Kumar to the role of Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), a significant leadership transition for the fast-growing audio and wearables brand. Kumar, who joined boAt in August 2023 as head of brand marketing, announced the development through a LinkedIn post, reflecting on his journey and acknowledging the leadership team that supported his growth within the organisation.

“There are brands you admire from a distance and then there are brands that make you want to be in the room. boAt Lifestyle was always the second kind for me. It felt alive in a way most brands spend years trying to manufacture. So when the opportunity came to work with the team that actually built it, I didn’t think twice. Today, it means a lot to share that I’m now chief marketing officer of this incredible company,” Kumar wrote.

He expressed gratitude to boAt co-founders Aman Gupta and Sameer Mehta, along with CEO Gaurav Nayyar and his team, for fostering a culture of creativity and providing him the space to grow. “Getting here has taken a village though. Aman Gupta and Sameer Mehta for building a culture where creativity is taken seriously. Gaurav Nayyar for steering the ship, giving me the room to grow and make mistakes along the way. My team, who I learn from more than they probably realise and make my job look a lot easier than it is. And everyone who supported, shaped, or simply put up with me along the way. But make no mistake. boAt marketing will always be Aman Gupta. I’m just here to help raise this baby,” he added.

Kumar’s promotion reflects boAt’s emphasis on continuity and creative leadership as it strengthens its brand presence in India’s dynamic consumer technology market. His tenure as head of brand marketing saw him drive campaigns that positioned boAt as a lifestyle brand, blending product innovation with cultural collaborations across fashion, sport, and entertainment.

Before joining boAt, Kumar was with Zomato as creative lead, where he contributed to shaping the food-tech giant’s distinctive brand voice. His earlier stints include leadership roles at Dentsu Impact, Humour Me, MullenLowe Lintas Group, Publicis Groupe and J. Walter Thompson Worldwide. With a career spanning advertising, creative strategy and brand building, Kumar has worked across categories including consumer goods, food, lifestyle and technology brands.

As CMO, Kumar will now spearhead boAt’s marketing vision, focusing on deepening consumer connections, expanding cultural relevance, and strengthening the brand’s positioning in both domestic and international markets. His appointment signals boAt’s ambition to evolve from a challenger brand into a global lifestyle technology player, driven by creativity, digital innovation and community engagement.
