VML INDIA BOLSTERS LEADERSHIP WITH KEY APPOINTMENTS

VML India has announced the appointment of Kunal Roy as Managing Partner – West & Growth Lead, India, and Shekhar Khanna as Chief Strategy Officer. The move strengthens the agency’s leadership and strategic capabilities, underscoring its commitment to growth-led, integrated solutions and expansion in the Indian market.  

VML India has reinforced its leadership team with two senior appointments, signalling its intent to accelerate growth and expand its integrated solutions offering in the Indian market.  

Kunal Roy joins as Managing Partner – West & Growth Lead, India. With over two decades of experience across Asia, Roy has built a reputation for steering agencies and brands through transformative growth. Most recently, he served as CEO of Dentsu Creative in Malaysia, where he successfully integrated six companies into a unified creative entity. His earlier tenure as Group Chief Strategy Officer at Publicis Groupe Malaysia saw the agency secure three consecutive Effie Agency of the Year titles. Over his career, Roy has partnered with global brands including McDonald’s, Samsung, HSBC, Mondelez, Unilever, Nestlé, Adidas, Estée Lauder, and Abbott. At VML India, he will lead the Mumbai office and work closely with CEO Babita Baruah to drive growth initiatives.  

Shekhar Khanna has been appointed Chief Strategy Officer, bringing 20 years of experience across the APAC region. His career spans research, digital, creative, activation, and media, with a strong track record in developing integrated strategies that combine creativity, media, data, and technology. Khanna’s appointment enhances VML India’s strategic planning capabilities, complementing the expertise of National Planning Director and BX Lead Shubhrojyoti Roy.  

Together, these appointments reflect VML India’s ambition to strengthen its leadership bench and deliver growth-focused, integrated solutions for clients in a rapidly evolving market.
