Tata Consumer Products has appointed Virat Khanna as Vice President – Marketing & Innovation, Beverages. Transitioning from skincare to beverages after five years at Dabur India, Khanna will spearhead marketing and innovation for the packaged beverages portfolio and drive growth for Tata Agni, bringing diverse experience across FMCG, grooming, and personal care.

Tata Consumer Products has announced the appointment of Virat Khanna as Vice President – Marketing & Innovation, Beverages, marking a significant addition to its leadership team. In his new role, Khanna will oversee the marketing and innovation agenda for the company’s packaged beverages portfolio, while also taking charge of the growth mandate for Tata Agni, one of its key offerings.

Khanna shared the news on LinkedIn, describing the move as a transition from skincare to beverages after a five-year tenure at Dabur India. At Dabur, he played a pivotal role in shaping marketing strategies within the personal care segment, strengthening brand positioning in a highly competitive market. His shift to beverages signals both a personal career evolution and Tata Consumer Products’ intent to sharpen its focus on innovation-led growth.

Prior to his time at Dabur, Khanna served as Head of Marketing at The Moms Co between August 2020 and June 2021, where he contributed to the expansion of the brand’s presence in the natural and toxin-free skincare category. His earlier career includes a three-year stint at Philips, where he worked as Category Marketing Manager – Male Grooming and Innovation, driving product launches and consumer engagement in a segment that demanded constant reinvention.

Khanna’s longest tenure was with L’Oréal India, where he spent over seven years across diverse roles in marketing, sales, and key account management. His experience at L’Oréal provided him with a strong foundation in brand building, consumer insights, and market execution, skills that have consistently defined his career trajectory.

Industry observers note that Khanna’s appointment comes at a time when Tata Consumer Products is strengthening its beverages portfolio amid evolving consumer preferences. With tea and coffee categories undergoing rapid transformation, the company is expected to leverage Khanna’s expertise in innovation and brand strategy to capture growth opportunities and reinforce its market leadership.

Khanna’s career reflects a consistent focus on consumer-centric innovation, whether in personal care, grooming, or FMCG. His move to Tata Consumer Products underscores the increasing cross-sector mobility of marketing leaders, who bring transferable skills across industries to drive growth in dynamic consumer markets. As he takes on the challenge of leading marketing and innovation in beverages, Khanna’s diverse background is likely to play a crucial role in shaping Tata Consumer Products’ next phase of expansion.
