Škoda Auto India and BBH India have unveiled ‘Says It All.’, an integrated campaign for the new Škoda Slavia that breaks away from traditional automotive advertising. Through quirky films, redacted print ads and an unusual outdoor initiative, the campaign aims to let the sedan’s character and reputation speak for themselves.
With the launch of the new Škoda Slavia, Škoda Auto India is taking an unconventional route to automotive marketing, choosing to say less about the car while inviting consumers to notice more. Created in partnership with BBH India, the integrated campaign, titled ‘Says It All.’, seeks to position the Slavia as a sedan whose design, performance and European engineering require little explanation.
Built on Škoda’s long-standing heritage of producing distinctive sedans, the campaign is founded on a simple premise: when a product has a strong identity, it can speak for itself. Rather than relying on detailed feature demonstrations or technical specifications, the campaign uses curiosity, humour and restraint to draw attention to the new Slavia.
At the centre of the campaign are two offbeat films that initially appear to have little connection to cars. One revolves around the unusual fact that a cow can climb a flight of stairs but cannot walk back down, while the other explores the equally bizarre notion of a drunk ant. The conversations unfold in unexpected directions before eventually leading back to the new Škoda Slavia.
The creative approach deliberately avoids conventional automotive storytelling. Instead of explaining the car’s credentials outright, the films allow audiences to make the connection themselves, reinforcing the campaign’s central message that the Slavia’s character needs little introduction.
The idea extends beyond film into print and outdoor media, each channel interpreting the theme in a distinctive manner. In print, a series of redacted advertisements withhold key information about the vehicle. By concealing details rather than highlighting them, the advertisements encourage viewers to focus on the car itself and the reputation it already enjoys among enthusiasts and prospective buyers.
Perhaps the most striking element of the campaign is its outdoor execution. In a move rarely seen in automotive advertising, Škoda is giving away one of its outdoor advertising sites to Indian homegrown businesses and brands. Instead of using the space to promote the Slavia, the company is offering others an opportunity to tell their own stories.
The gesture serves as a literal expression of the campaign philosophy. By stepping back from self-promotion, Škoda suggests that a product confident in its own appeal does not need to dominate every advertising opportunity.
Commenting on the campaign, Ashish Gupta, Brand Director at Škoda Auto India, said the new Slavia continues the company’s rich sedan legacy and that the campaign was designed to reflect the car’s distinctive character. He noted that the aim was to connect with a new generation of customers who value design, performance and European engineering.
Parikshit Bhattacharya, Chief Creative Officer at BBH India and Propagate India, said the Slavia’s existing fan base gave the agency freedom to move beyond a conventional launch campaign. According to him, each element became a talking point precisely because it focused on subjects other than the car itself.
Now live across digital, print and outdoor platforms, ‘The New Škoda Slavia. Says It All.’ demonstrates how a brand can create conversation not by saying more, but by confidently choosing to say less.
