Parvathi Raghunathan has joined WPP Media as Senior Vice President, marking a new chapter in a career spanning adtech, media and e-commerce. She arrives from The Trade Desk, where she led data partnerships, and brings experience from GroupM, Amazon, Xaxis and several prominent industry organisations.
WPP Media has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Parvathi Raghunathan as Senior Vice President, adding a seasoned media and advertising technology executive to its ranks.
Raghunathan joins the organisation from The Trade Desk, where she served as Director of Data Partnerships. Her move marks the latest step in a career that has spanned some of the industry’s most influential companies across media, advertising technology and digital commerce.
Announcing the transition in a LinkedIn post, Raghunathan reflected on her experience at The Trade Desk, describing it as a period of significant professional development.
“It was an experience that pushed me beyond my comfort zone, challenged me in the best ways and gave me the opportunity to work with some truly wonderful teams and mentors,” she wrote, expressing gratitude for her time with the global advertising technology company.
Her tenure at The Trade Desk saw her working closely within the data partnerships ecosystem, an area that has become increasingly important as advertisers and agencies seek more sophisticated ways to leverage consumer insights while navigating evolving privacy standards and measurement challenges.
Raghunathan brings to WPP Media a broad perspective shaped by leadership roles across multiple segments of the advertising and marketing landscape. Before joining The Trade Desk, she held positions at GroupM, one of the world’s largest media investment groups, as well as e-commerce giant Amazon. She has also worked at Xaxis, the data-driven media and programmatic advertising platform, among other organisations.
The depth and diversity of that experience are expected to be valuable as WPP Media continues to focus on data-led marketing strategies, audience intelligence and technology-driven media solutions for clients.
Her appointment comes at a time when media agencies are under growing pressure to help brands navigate an increasingly fragmented digital ecosystem. As advertisers seek greater accountability, personalisation and performance from their media investments, executives with expertise spanning media, technology and data partnerships are becoming increasingly sought after.
Raghunathan’s professional journey reflects many of the broader shifts that have transformed the marketing industry over the past decade, including the rise of programmatic advertising, the growing importance of first-party data and the convergence of media, commerce and technology.
While details of her responsibilities at WPP Media have not been disclosed, the appointment signals the company’s continued emphasis on strengthening its senior leadership team with talent experienced in data and technology-driven transformation.
For Raghunathan, the move represents a new opportunity to build on the experiences gained across some of the industry’s most recognised names. As she begins her tenure at WPP Media, her blend of agency, platform and adtech expertise is likely to position her as a key contributor to the company’s evolving growth and innovation agenda.
