MAYANK KUMAR JOINS INDIGO AS HEAD OF CONTENT AND CREATIVE MARKETING

Mayank Kumar has joined IndiGo as Head of Content and Creative – Marketing. With 14 years of experience across consumer internet, fintech, e-commerce and media, he previously led content at MobiKwik and MakeMyTrip. His appointment underscores IndiGo’s focus on elevating brand storytelling and creative engagement as it expands its market presence.

IndiGo has announced the appointment of Mayank Kumar as Head of Content and Creative – Marketing, marking a significant addition to the airline’s leadership team. Kumar shared the news on LinkedIn, writing, “On to India’s largest airline now. IndiGo has spent two decades changing the way India travels. Here to shape its creative expression from here on.”  

With over 14 years of experience in brand and content strategy, Kumar brings a diverse background spanning consumer internet, fintech, e-commerce and media. His career trajectory reflects a strong focus on building impactful narratives and driving engagement through innovative content approaches.  

Before joining IndiGo, Kumar served as Head of Content – Associate Director at MobiKwik, where he oversaw brand communication, social media, CRM and app content. His role was pivotal in strengthening MobiKwik’s digital presence and enhancing customer engagement through integrated content strategies.  

Kumar’s longest tenure was at MakeMyTrip, where he spent nearly nine years shaping the travel platform’s content and brand storytelling. His work contributed to positioning MakeMyTrip as a leading player in India’s online travel ecosystem, with campaigns that resonated strongly with consumers. He has also held roles at Times Internet and Vigilante Communication, further broadening his expertise across media and creative industries.  

IndiGo, which has established itself as India’s largest airline over the past two decades, continues to invest in strengthening its brand identity and customer engagement. Kumar’s appointment signals the airline’s intent to elevate its creative expression and deepen its connection with travellers through compelling content and marketing initiatives.  

As IndiGo expands its domestic and international footprint, the role of content and creative leadership becomes increasingly critical in shaping brand perception and driving loyalty. Kumar’s blend of experience across travel, fintech and media positions him well to lead this transformation, ensuring IndiGo’s communication reflects both innovation and authenticity.
