Mondelez India has launched Belgian heritage brand CÔTE D’OR in the country, expanding its premium chocolate portfolio with five variants. The 140-year-old brand, known for its distinctive cocoa taste, will be available via quick-commerce platforms, reflecting rising demand for international indulgence and online premium food distribution in India.

Mondelez India has announced the arrival of CÔTE D’OR, Belgium’s iconic chocolate brand, to the Indian market, marking a significant expansion of its premium offerings. Established in 1883, CÔTE D’OR has been cherished for generations in Belgium, celebrated for its rich cocoa taste and craftsmanship. The introduction of the brand underscores the growing appetite among Indian consumers for globally inspired, premium food experiences.

The launch features five distinct variants: CÔTE D’OR Noir 70 percent Intense, CÔTE D’OR Noir 86 percent Extra Intense, CÔTE D’OR Whole Hazelnuts Milk Chocolate, CÔTE D’OR Caramelised Almonds Milk Chocolate, and CÔTE D’OR Whole Hazelnuts Dark Chocolate. These offerings are designed to cater to evolving palates, balancing indulgence with authenticity and heritage.

Nitin Saini, Vice President, Marketing, Mondelez India, highlighted the significance of the launch, noting that consumers increasingly value brands with both quality and heritage. “CÔTE D’OR has been enjoyed by generations of chocolate lovers in Belgium for its distinctive cocoa taste and craftsmanship. We are delighted to bring Belgium’s favourite chocolate brand to India and offer a rich, indulgent chocolate experience shaped over 140 years of expertise,” he said.

The dark chocolate variants will retail at Rs 499 for 100g packs, while the nut-filled options will be priced at Rs 599 for 180g packs. Distribution will be led by quick-commerce platforms, reflecting the growing role of online delivery in premium packaged food categories. This strategy aligns with changing consumer behaviour, where convenience and immediacy are increasingly valued alongside indulgence.

The move strengthens Mondelez India’s position in the premium chocolate segment, adding another international brand to its expanding portfolio. It also highlights the company’s commitment to bringing global indulgence experiences to Indian consumers, reinforcing its leadership in shaping the country’s evolving chocolate landscape.

By introducing CÔTE D’OR, Mondelez India is not only diversifying its premium range but also tapping into the rising demand for international brands that combine heritage, authenticity, and indulgence. The launch positions the company to capture the growing interest in artisanal and globally recognised chocolates, while leveraging digital-first distribution channels to reach consumers more effectively.
