The Balvenie has announced a striking new collaboration with internationally acclaimed illustrator Victo Ngai, unveiling Shaped by the Seasons, a Limited-Edition collection of five of its signature whiskies. The partnership transforms the brand’s celebrated Cask Finishes Collection into storytelling canvases, each bottle adorned with Ngai’s intricate, myth-inspired designs.
The collection features The DoubleWood 12 Year Old, Caribbean Cask 14 Year Old, PortWood 21 Year Old, Madeira Cask 15 Year Old and Pedro Ximénez Cask 18 Year Old. Ngai’s artwork draws on both mythical and legendary tales of The Balvenie, weaving hidden details and seasonal motifs into the packaging. Her illustrations reflect the distillery’s philosophy of time as a creative force, exploring the rhythm of the four seasons and their influence on craftsmanship.
This collaboration underscores The Balvenie’s commitment to artistry and storytelling, elevating the whisky experience beyond taste to embrace heritage and imagination. The Limited-Edition Collection will be available from May 2026, with certain variants released globally and others reserved exclusively for global travel retail, ensuring collectors and enthusiasts alike can access these distinctive designs.
Victo Ngai brings formidable credentials to the partnership. A Forbes 30 Under 30 honouree in Art and Style, she has won five Society of Illustrators New York Gold Medals, the Hamilton King Award, and has been nominated for the Hugo Award for Best Artist. Raised in Hong Kong and trained at the Rhode Island School of Design, Ngai is now based in Los Angeles. Her career spans teaching at the School of Visual Art New York, judging international competitions, and lecturing at universities and conferences across more than 50 cities worldwide. Her work has been profiled in leading publications including The Wall Street Journal, The Independent, Cosmopolitan, Elle and Marie Claire.
