WPP Media has appointed Winnie Chen-Head as Chief Executive Officer for Malaysia, marking a significant leadership move in the region. In this newly created role, Chen-Head will oversee the network’s media agencies, driving growth, capability development and integration across the group.

Chen-Head brings more than 24 years of experience across media, e-commerce, aviation, telecommunications and tech start-ups. She joins WPP Media from Omnicom Media Group Malaysia, where she served as CEO following her earlier tenure as managing director, media at Dentsu Malaysia. Prior to that, she spent three years at Dentsu Malaysia as partner and head of product and growth, while also leading iProspect Malaysia.

Her career includes senior roles at Mindshare Malaysia, where she focused on new business development and data-led media solutions, and at MediaCom Malaysia, where she managed key client relationships. She also held a client-side role in 2017 as general manager of marketing and business development at payments platform Fave.

Reflecting on her return to WPP Media, Chen-Head said: “My formative media agency years were spent here, and that experience provided me with not just a strong foundation, but a deep respect and genuine affection for what makes this place special—the people, the ambition, and the craft.”

Helen McRae, CEO of WPP Media for SEAPAT, added: “Winnie’s energy and expertise will be instrumental in helping us deliver intelligent growth and unparalleled value to clients across the region.”
