JOHN JACOBS AND S&N BY SHANTNU NIKHIL UNVEIL FIRST-EVER EYEWEAR COLLABORATION

John Jacobs has partnered with S&N by Shantnu Nikhil to launch a 32-piece eyewear collection inspired by “The Shape of India”. Marking the designers’ first venture into eyewear, the range blends Italian design sensibilities with Indian couture influences, offering statement eyeglasses and sunglasses for festive and occasion dressing.

In a collaboration that brings together two distinct design philosophies, premium eyewear brand John Jacobs has joined forces with S&N by Shantnu Nikhil to launch a 32-piece eyewear collection, marking the celebrated designers’ first-ever foray into the category.

The new range combines John Jacobs’ Italian-inspired design approach with the signature aesthetic of S&N by Shantnu Nikhil, creating a collection that reinterprets classic eyewear silhouettes through contemporary styling, refined craftsmanship and distinctive detailing.

Inspired by the concept of “The Shape of India”, the collection pays tribute to influential Indian leaders whose eyewear became enduring symbols of conviction, intellect and authority. Drawing from these iconic references, the designers have reimagined timeless frame shapes for a new generation, blending heritage influences with a fashion-forward sensibility.

The collaboration arrives at a time when eyewear is increasingly viewed as a central element of personal style rather than simply a functional accessory. Through an array of eyeglasses and sunglasses, the collection aims to offer wearers an opportunity to make a statement while seamlessly integrating eyewear into both everyday and occasion dressing.

Among the defining features of the collection are several signature design elements that reflect the creative identity of S&N by Shantnu Nikhil. The iconic S&N mark has been incorporated into the curve of the frames, while precision metal streak detailing runs across the temples. Adding a further layer of distinction are the label’s recognisable navy blue and cherry-red tape accents, discreetly positioned within the folding hinges.

The 32-piece range spans a variety of silhouettes, including wayfarers, aviators, round frames and bold square shapes. Rich colour palettes and premium materials underpin the collection, which has been designed to complement a diverse wardrobe, from casual daywear to festive ensembles and wedding celebrations.

Launching in the midst of the festive season, the collection positions eyewear as more than a finishing touch. Instead, the frames are intended to serve as a defining style statement, elevating looks for celebratory gatherings, special occasions and evening events.

For designers Shantnu and Nikhil, the move into eyewear represents a natural extension of their design vision. “Eyewear has been a fascinating extension for us because it allows us to take our design philosophy beyond clothes,” they said. “We’ve always been drawn to classic shapes, strong silhouettes and the idea of timelessness. With John Jacobs, we wanted to bring that sensibility into eyewear, exploring a certain softness in masculinity and the freedom for people to express themselves in their own way. For us, it’s not just about how a frame looks, but the point of view of the to craftsmanship and bold design. “At John Jacobs, we’re constantly exploring new ways to push eyewear design forward. With S&N by Shantnu Nikhil, we’re bringing Italian design and Indian couture together in a bold new way. What sets this collaboration apart is the interplay of classic silhouettes, considered materials and signature details,” he said.

By uniting couture-inspired aesthetics with modern eyewear design, the collection signals a new chapter for both brands, demonstrating how fashion and functionality can come together through a shared vision of individuality and self-expression.
