Creative studio Manonegra & Co has unveiled an elegant new gift card packaging concept for PANISSE, the contemporary Colombian bakery and café inspired by European pâtisserie culture. Designed as an immersive extension of the brand, the packaging transforms gifting into a refined sensory ritual rooted in craftsmanship, heritage and understated luxury.
In an era where packaging increasingly shapes brand perception, creative studio Manonegra & Co has crafted a gift card presentation for PANISSE that seeks to turn a simple exchange into an emotional and immersive experience. Developed for the contemporary bakery and café in Pereira, Colombia, the packaging reflects the establishment’s ambition to reinterpret European pâtisserie culture through a distinctly local and intimate lens.

PANISSE has positioned itself as more than a café. Conceived as a sensory retreat within the city, the space invites visitors to slow down and engage with rituals of craftsmanship, aroma and hospitality. Drawing on the elegance of European baking traditions while remaining deeply connected to Colombian warmth and character, the brand combines timeless sophistication with an approachable atmosphere.
The newly developed gift card packaging extends this philosophy beyond the café walls. Rather than functioning as a purely practical container, the object was envisioned as an integral part of the PANISSE experience — something designed to be opened deliberately, appreciated visually and retained long after the moment of gifting has passed.
Manonegra & Co approached the project with a focus on ritual and emotional resonance. The design language draws heavily from European Art Deco influences and the architectural identity of the bakery itself. A rich, deep-blue and gold palette evokes refinement and permanence, while finely detailed linework mirrors the arches and spatial rhythms found throughout the PANISSE interiors.
At the heart of the composition sits a symbolic emblem combining wheat motifs with an architectural archway, intended to represent both origin and invitation. The emblem encapsulates the bakery’s dual identity: rooted in tradition yet open, contemporary and welcoming.
Materiality and tactility were also central to the project’s execution. The packaging was designed to feel substantial and enduring, reinforcing the notion that luxury can emerge through restraint, detail and craftsmanship rather than excess. By treating the gift card as a keepsake rather than a disposable item, the design encourages recipients to associate the gesture with memory and experience.
The result is a packaging concept that aligns with broader shifts in premium hospitality branding, where every touchpoint — from interiors to takeaway materials — contributes to a cohesive narrative. For PANISSE, the gift card becomes more than a voucher; it serves as an introduction to the café’s world, carrying the same quiet elegance and sensory intentionality that define the brand itself.
